We had my pre-graduation dinner at Atheneos, Mesquite yesterday, after our 3 hours drive from Houston. The service was outstanding. We were there hungry and our food was ready very quickly. The staff was gracious and the owner/manager making rounds and checking on guests was awesome. You don't see that much anymore. The gyro lunch plate was delicious and the baklava sundae was really good! The only thing negative I will say is the staff took a little too long to check in from time to time and I was not even offered a refill of my drink. We have recently returned from a vacation which included two of the numerous Greek Isles. Craving a taste of Greece, we were delighted to find Atheneos Greek Village Cafe in Mesquite Texas! !! The food is delicious, I have tried the Souvlaki and Papoutsakia, (stuffed eggplant), and was very pleased with both. If you enjoy pizza, they have a fabulous gyro pizza on pita bread!!! My husband now has a new favorite pizza. The staff are wonderfully friendly as are the owner and his wife. Incidentally, the owner is a dead ringer for Vangelis the Greek composer of new age jazz and orchestral music. Just go, eat, enjoy a taste of Greece here in the states!!! More...

We have not dined at Athenos for at least 5 years. We moved from the Garland/Mesquite area in 2014. We dined on Saturday, December 8th in route to a party in Mesquite. Since we remembered it was one of our favorite Greek restaurant we agreed to dine there that evening. The food is still as delicious and fresh as we remembered. The owner is as gracious as before. Took my Wife here tonight for date night and she we enjoyed it. Food was authentic and fresh and its byob didn't like the $4. 50 bottle fee but I get it. But the total ambiance made up for it.
