Whether you are a true beginner or an expert yogi you will feel welcomed here. The space itself is warm and inviting, and the teachers are encouraging and knowledgable. Laurel's structural flow classes are the best for building confidence and learning the safe and proper way to yoga! When you crave devotion and intention, go to Sunday mornings with Jayne. If you want to crack a beer and have a few laughs while you get your stretch on, do Thug Yoga with Courtney. You really can't go wrong at this gem. The owner and staff at Shakti truly and obviously care about our community in Aspen. The way all of their classes and events are executed showcase their desire to enrich the community, and after attending almost 30 classes, I feel they are very successful. I have always been intimidated by yoga as I am such a basic beginner, but every class and every instructor has been incredibly helpful to me, physically and mentally. I've spent a lot of time in yoga studios around the world and this is by far my favorite. Beginning with the teachers who are all gifted in their craft of spreading love and light and knowledgeable lessons in the many aspects of yoga. Jayne- with her creative and inspirational dance Buddhist moves and powerful messages has shaped the community by sharing her love of yoga in all forms.  I especially love when she shares her kundalini practice. You will know for sure this studio is unique when taking one of her classes as her devotion to the practice is seen in all she does.  Jaime has the voice of an angel and inspiration of a goddess, she has moved me to tears in every sivasana with her beautiful gift. Roger continues to challenge my abilities to chattaranga with his powerful moves and abiIity to evoke meaning in every asana. And Ashlyn who has brought yoga sculpt to this town and is helping to mold bodies and minds to the incredible empowerment of yoga. Im so grateful for these teachers who continue to inspire me in finding connection and growth in the experience of life. The yoga challenge provides an opportunity for the community to unite in the darkest times of the year when we all need it the most. I love everything about this studio from the ambiance to the beautiful lighting and inspirational messages to the alters of devotion. Aspen Shakti is truly one of the most special places in Aspen. I have been going to classes at this studio for the past 5 years and it never ceases to deliver a truly amazing experience. Shakti is by far the best studio in town and you can feel that immediately when you walk in the doors. Any visitors, friends, family.....I always tell them to take a class at Shakti while they are in town. I absolutely LOVE Shakti yoga studio here in Aspen. There are a wide variety of classes they offer such as Vinyassa, Buddhi, Structural flow, Yoga Sculpt and much more. I am so happy that I went through Shakti to organize a private yoga class for my bachelorette party. The instructor Courtney was so fun and thoughtful. The class was taught outside in a meadow in Aspen overlooking the beautiful fall colors. Courtney also brought us champagne and little notecards for all my girls to write me a thoughtful note for my wedding. She completely went with the vibe of our group and modified for people that had never done yoga. I would highly recommend this for any group trip and looking forward to taking a real class at this studio next time I'm in Aspen! More...
