Knowing that our wedding was arriving soon, and my wife was living on the other side of the United States, I was terrified about what I would do when I had to get up and dance in front of all of my friends and relatives. The instructors and staff at Arthur Murray Dance Studio first calmed me down, and then worked with me to polish my skills. My fiancé (now my wife) was so surprised, and my family was impressed. I must admit, it was a lot of fun, and once we are more settled we are going back to take lessons as a couple. The Arthur Murray Studio in St Augustine has the most wonderfully talented instructors who have the ability to teach very young students as well as teach “old dogs new tricks” like me. I am 69 but feel as though I’m 16 when I leave this place. My wife is…..well I won’t mention her age but she feels the same way. Their lessons are thorough and they make us feel comfortable, at ease and welcome. We feel energized and refreshed when we visit this studio. On my bucket list was to learn how to dance. I "stopped in" at the St. Augustine Arthur Murray studio and within two hours I had my first lesson and I haven't stopped 4 months later! I never felt intimidated or uncomfortable. Being fairly young (57) and single (widowed), I chose Florida to escape the winter woes of Michigan and thank goodness I did! I love dancing so much that I have chosen to make St. Augustine my permanent home! The staff and clientele are like family...well, they are family and I am grateful and feel so blessed to have found a new home. I've lost weight and I've developed a passion for ballroom and latin dancing through pure joy of movement to music. If you want exercise of mind and body, with an added bonus of a wonderful social experience, we highly recommend St. Augustine Arthur Murray Dance Studio. We have found dance classes to be far more than we initially expected. The instructors and owners of the studio are people who genuinely care about each and every student. They are patient, positive and punctual. If this isn’t enough, they also take the time to genuinely know their students, recognizing what motivates them, as well as grasping each student’s learning style. I went to all of their socials while visiting for the month of January I found them to be a very warm welcoming group of dancers.
