I experianced great service from the moment i walked into the salon until the minute i left it. People working here are such professionals! Adrian did a great job with cutting my hair and not only that we also had an interesting conversation meanwhile. Adrian is extremely knowledgable in his field and also appeared to be very passionate about it which i always appriciate when people do wha their passion in life is. I wasn't sure if i want to layer my hair or keep it all one lenght as i have had them for many years but he adviced me not to taking in consideration my type of hair and i fully trusted him. I have never wanted to do layers before and was always doubting it but that day i decided maybe i should try it and when Adrian said that it's not necessary for me i was so relieved. Fabulous haircuts, styling, and keratin by Arsen; terrific color by Erika; Adrian does great blow-outs—and this is the most gorgeous, welcoming salon space in NYC. Uber-talented Vicente Wolf designed the loftlike interior, which looks sun-splashed even on a rainy day. I have been getting my hair colored by Erika for over 15 years. She was recommended to me by another client after I had experienced a terrible coloring job. My first visit with her was for a consult and I immediately trusted her and never looked back. She is always honest with me and finds innovative ways of coloring my hair while still keeping it healthy. I want to start off by saying that I am not an easy client. I am full of anxiety when it comes to my hair - because I love my long hair, although I have a lot of it, it's very fine. But, I HATE getting my hair cut. I finally had the courage to breakup with my beloved hairstylist after our long run of 6 years! It wasn't an easy decision, but I was ready for a change. Enter Arsen Gurgov. I have a friend that has been seeing him for years, and decided to put my anxiety to the test and let this legend cut my hair. I was very nervous, on the verge of tears...because I thought for sure he was going to want to chop off my long hair...because most stylists do! But, not Arsen. He was amazing! He took his time to understand what I was looking for and reassured me that I wasn't going to lose my long hair...and that I would still have long hair, don't worry! OK - here it goes, anxiety in full swing!!! He had me get washed, started to cut, had me stand up, and cut my hair standing up too (this was a first for me). He took his time, but kept chatting with me - probably because he knew that I needed the distraction. He was so nice, and extremely charming (which helps)! Adrian dried my hair, who I might add is also very lovely. Just when I thought I was done, Arsen came back and finished cutting my hair on my dry hair (another first). Needless to say I was blown away, not only did he keep his promise, yes..I still have long hair, but my cut gave me a fresh look and overall looked so much healthier and fuller. The salon itself is beautiful...super chic, modern and clean. The staff was very accommodating and sweet. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I have been going to Arsen for many years, I don't get my haircuts anywhere else but him. I travel from Long Island to get to him and it's sooooo worth it. Every time I get a cut and style,  it feels and looks so healthy, and last long. I have also been getting my color by colorist Ericka who's been doing such an amazing job at it. She always knows what suits my skin complexion and what's best for me. I'm naturally a brunette and she slowly turned me into a blonde at one point and now I'm rocking balayage (which in fact is overdue, had no time to go get it done) I love the colors I get and every time I get my hair blown out by other salons they always compliment on my color and ask who did it? Even in NYC -- the land of the celebrity stylists -- the only person I will let touch my hair is Arsen. Cut: Give him a brief idea of the look you're going for and watch him go. He's extremely meticulous and understands all types of hair (mine is thick and unruly) so he embraces it instead of trying to hide each client's natural beauty.Keratin: there is a reason his prices are higher than what you see from random salons on the street. Instead of haphazardly applying the treatment, Arsen takes time to make sure the formula is applied to each piece of hair, blow dried into place, and sealed with an iron. The end result: smooth, silky, shiny hair for months. Post treatment, it only takes 12 minutes for me to blow dry my hair (vs. 45 minutes+ pre-keratin). And if I decide to leave it natural, I have the soft beautiful waves I always wanted. I would be remiss not to mention the cleanliness of the salon and the professional and friendly nature of the staff. More...
