I am writing this review after ordering two times from Aroma restaurant. Today is second time we ordered as we have liked so much the first time. First time,We have ordered andhra punugulu and vegetable biryani first time one week back. Both were delicious and they followed the instructions of mild spiciness.Especially Andhra punugulu tasted same like from andhra, remembered that taste. Today again ordered the same items or second time , but andhra punugulu tasted worst. It's like added maida flour. Texture and taste everything changed compared to last time. And they didn't give groundnut chutney or tomato chutney. They have some chutney, I couldn't even understand what is that. Vegetable biryani is so spicy even though we added instructions as mild spicy. I doubt whether we order from this restaurant from next time. More...

My first time trying this place. We got it delivered through Grubhub. Food came fairly quickly or on time!The food overall was okay. I've had better butter chicken. It was bland to us. The garlic naan smelled amazing! But too doughy and had no flavor. It was my first time ever trying guthi vankaya (eggplant curry) and I liked it but I cannot compare it to other places. It had a slight peanut flavor since there is peanuts in there but not over powering at all. I would get this dish again!My friend who is Indian said her food was just okay also. Found Aroma on Yelp and am so pleased I did. Got carry out and food stayed hot the 35 minute drive home. Good biryani can be hard to find but it was absolutely delicious here. I had the paneer 65 biryani and was very good...the breading and seasoning on the paneer almost made it look like chicken (was worried it was chicken...but it wasn't, they just prepared the paneer well). The highlight of my meal however was the paneer makhani! Nice serving of paneer, creamy, and delicious. the food was just Ok , not as I expected, the Indian food that I have ever eaten has had a good taste and the sauce is very good, unlike today which made me very disappointed.  There is no sauce to accompany the dish.  price is a bit high, The food I received is completely different from what I ordered on the photo  ,sorry but i should go back to Saffron restaurant . This was my first time at Aroma. I tried the Paneer 65 Briyani there and it was by far the best Panner Briyani I ever had! Our host was very friendly, accommodating and kind. I've eaten their buffet in the past pre-covid and I will say it was generally delicious food.This evening I purchased take-out. Â Whereas I totally understand the struggles that restaurants are suffering currently, I still have expectations that a business will give me VALUE. Â On arriving home, I discovered that my naan was plain naan, and not the butter naan I had ordered. Â I greatly enjoy the flavor and "butteriness" of butter naan but no, this is simple and dry in appearance. Â The portions are quite disappointing to be honest. Â Raitha? Â Is it GOLD? Â Is it terribly difficult to make? Â I ordered a portion for 1.99 and it came in a 4 oz. container that was containing about 3 oz. Â I could drink raitha, I love it so much, but PLEASE don't short me on a 2 dollar condiment!! Â I'm honestly afraid to open my chicken tikka masala because I'm worried I'll be able to count the chicken chunks on one hand. Â Likewise the rice container is just small.I'd expect that although they are hurting (like every other restaurant!), they would deliver a better value to the customer. A few friends took me here after trying a few other Indian restaurants on Orchard Lake and I fell in love! Usually they are empty because so many people do carry out but I recommend you go in and try the lunch buffet. The butter chicken is my favorite but everything I have tried is wonderful! A very unprofessional restaurant and management. We called in food delivery on Valentines day which was sent in with only rice. None of the entrees or appetizers were sent. When I called them, they said it was the fault of the person who took the order and they would deliver within half an hr. I had ordered 90 USD worth and had a few couples over for valentines day celebration. Interestingly, no food was wvee delivered and they were unreachable on the phone. Both the phones had me blocked. I waited for 1.5 hour but never got any food delivered. I was ashamed in front of my guests. One  of them ordered food from another restaurant nearby and carried it to our place. I used to be a regular at Aroma but I would probably be stupid to go back to them after this experience.Just a heads up! More...

So, I made the year of 2020 to think outside of the box and broaden my horizon.This the first week's adventure, it was to try Indian food for the first time. I did some extra research and inevitably we ended up at Aroma!The place was clean, the wait staff was incredibly helpful and attentive, didn't seem bothered when we had a few questions on what certain dishes were. Plus, did I mention they have beer?! The mughali chicken was by far my favorite! I still have a craving for it! The naan bread was delicious and airy! It's been a while since we've been to Aroma, and now after becoming vegan it's very difficult to find a good Indian buffet place were there are more then one vegan option. Many Indian dishes are vegetarian but finding vegan may be a challenge. I love that third place clearly indicates which dishes are vegan. Also there were plenty of options for me to try. The food was delicious, not as spicy as other Indian places, but there was not one dish that I tried and didn't like. Amazing food. The only average item was naan which my husband said it's not very good. The garlic naan looked exactly as the one you can buy frozen at Trader Joe's and hubby said it tasted also exactly the same... this is weird...Other than that we were very pleased, the service was very good too and restaurant itself was clean. I'm not sure about weekday buffet prices but we were on Sunday and we paid about $15 per person. I was surprised how pricey it was, but maybe next time we will not going on a weekend. More...
