Here is Liam's (my 6 y/o) review of Anita's.      -------Anitas anitas anidas for me and everyone. I'm gonna star now. To begin, first it was so good. Is not too much expense in your wallet and is pretty comfortable. For sitting and taking it to go you can always have good food i really didn't like that its only here and one other restaurant would be cool if it was a biiiiiiiiiiiiigg popular chain in lots of good locations too. To say the least, finally i would say to recommend it for a friend or someone i meet with you will like it as much than me and anitas will make you happy. We have been coming to Anita's for almost 8 years. They are one of our go-to Mexican food restaurants because service and food quality has always been consistent. Actually in the past couple years they have actually even improved. Menu choices are always good. It's authentic. They have an awesome happy hour. They make a mean margarita (blended and iced-I've had both). They're prices are always perfect and they usually have a Yelp coupon that can be used too. The location is great, being close to shopping and right off the freeway. So we usually stop in for lunch when we're out and about running errands.I love any of their burritos "wet" (sauce on top). The quesadillas are large enough to share. Everything is tasty and prices are very reasonable (even if you're on a tight budget). The restaurant has a very culturally festive decor and is very inviting.The staff is always courteous and pleasant. We'll be going to Anita's for many years to come. More...

I came here with my sister for lunch, we both love Mexican food. The server greeted us both with a warm, friendly smile then she brought over a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa.  The chips were crispy and the salsa wasn't too spicy. I ordered the beef enchiladas, re-fried beans, and rice, my sister ordered the shrimp soft tacos with the same side dishes. We didn't have to wait very long to receive our food probably about 15 to 20 minutes. The plates were heated up when he received our food order. Vincente is awesome!!! He is so knowledgeable and friendly! I'm on an odd diet but he didn't look at me funny when I asked for a complicated meal. His customer service is on point and his attention to detail amazed me. I sat by another couple that was impressed as well. I will come back because of him. Tonight my family and I came here for dinner and we had a fantastic time. The Service:Excellent. It took a little while for our waitress to come to our table but all of the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The Food:- Chips & SalsaEach table receives corn chips and salsa upon arrival. It tastes really good and definitely filly you up. Eat wisely ;-)- Ceviche:We ordered the ceviche to share (this was amazing and very authentic like the ceviche you would receive in Central America). It tasted amazing and was the best ceviche I have had in years.Steak Fajitas:The steak fajitas were fantastic! The portion was huge and I had enough for lunch the next day. I found the steak flavourful and it was served with beans, salad, guacamole, rice, and stir fried vegetables including bell peppers and onion. Burritos:My mom ordered a burrito and really liked it. It came with tortilla chips and a salad. She also had leftovers for the next day. Steak and shrimp meal:My dad ordered this and said the seafood was delicious but he thought the steak was a little bland. With that being said, he said this was the best meal he has had in San Diego since being on vacation. It is possible the ceviche has something to do with this. Great service, good food and wonderful cocktails! We always find Anita's to be a consistent Mexican dining experience. We dined on crispy shell tacos, beef & chicken, cheese enchiladas and chili rellènos. All prepared in a traditional Mexican family manner. This place has delicious enchiladas with mole sauce.  Crazy good.  It rivals my fave MX restaurant in Corona Del Mar.  Ambiance at Anita's is very casual but food is really good.

What is there not to like? Great HH prices and the Carne Asada and Street Tacos are on point! Did I mention our server was great and beautiful to even add to the experience. I will return soon.

Staff was on top of things from beginning to end. Very attentive with what we needed-refills on drinks, more napkins, to go boxes, etc.  Service was great, had a enjoyable  experience.  Food was delicious.
