A little under a year ago was unequivocally the hardest time in my life. I was a 22 year old man who was completely unaware of the various dysfunctions that dictated his life. My first serious relationship had not only burnt holes in my faith in the world but also made me astutely aware for the first time in my life of many aspects of hurt and pain that have shaped and molded my life in unseemly ways. Around that time my mother had advised I get a life coach and although generally embarrassed at the time to be a 22 year old male who needs a person to teach him how to get his life together(as if any 22 year old has their life together haha) I reluctantly agreed. Over the next few weeks I developed a strong relationship with an amazing individual Anita Hodges. She was the first person in my life that I was able to be vulnerable and open with who saw me for the capable intelligent soul that I now look at in the mirror and as an equal. Throughout my journey with Anita I have gained an increase in the quality of my life that I never thought possible. Together we have worked to destroy the little voice that says you are not good enough and instill a reverence of self, a confidence and level of faith in self I never thought possible. Working with Anita is bordering an addiction. I anxiously look forward to our Monday sessions that she generously spends more time than I am allotted nearly every session. She has helped me realize who I am, and no amount of money or words can ever hope to convey the level of gratitude I have for her mentorship.
