I could not recommend Bob more for your cremation needs. Losing your furry friend is already an emotionally difficult experience, so adding the burden of finding a trusted and reliable cremation service makes the entire process almost unbearable. But I can tell you with full confidence that you don't need to stress about trusting Bob to take care of your pet's body. He truly loves what he does and has a deep care for animals, which made the grief I experienced after losing my baby a lot more bearable. He gave me the confidence I needed to know that my dog's body was in good hands and was treated with respect. Unfortunately, too much of the time, large-scale animal cremation services mix your little ones ashes with other animals, resulting in an overpriced service where you aren't even guaranteed the authenticity and integrity of your dog's ashes. Moreover, most cremation services, especially in the Chicagoland area, are unnecessarily expensive. Not only was Bob 50% less than his competitors in the area, but the level of care that he devoted to his craft was unparalleled. He personalized the entire process by involving the owner in picking out charms for the paw print that represented the dog's life, and he even sealed some of my dog's ashes in a beautiful handmade glass piece. On top of all that, he transported my dog's body from the veterinarians office to his cremation center for no additional cost (purely out of the goodness of his heart). I'm so glad we found this place. Bob was amazing. Our baby Milo passed away in his sleep at 2am and we were able to make an appointment for a drop-off at 10am the same day. I really like that they only offer individual cremations and at a very reasonable price. But above all, I am so thankful for Bob for making the whole process somewhat easier considering it was saddest days of my life. He was so compassionate and empathetic. He walked us through the whole process. He emphasized the importance of treating our baby with respect and honor which we really appreciated. And we were able to pick up his ashes within three days.  When we weren't able to pick him up right away because of our work schedule, he even offered to drop him at our house, since he lives pretty close to us. Bob has a very important job and he is amazing at it!!! He's very magical in what he does. Bob was Amazing. My Babee was so precious the sweetest most beautiful girl ever.  Bob is an exceptional person. He went above and beyond he was so kind and caring told me I can call him at any hour if I needed to talk or needed comforting. He came all the way to my home he was so supportive and kind and loving. He truly felt our pain and spent so much time comforting us. He gave us all the time to grieve and went above and beyond telling us Babee was precious. He even brought her remains back to us. Bob took care of my baby with love, care and dignity! During such a difficult time in our family's life he hugged us and gave us encouraging words. I felt at ease leaving my baby with him. Bob was a wonder to work with. My cat passed away yesterday, and I was at a loss what to do. I found ACS on a web search and am extremely grateful for their services. I spoke with Bob last night, made an appointment for the following day and everything was taken care of in a matter of hours. Upon realizing "Banfield cremation" meant a Banfield location inside a PetSmart inside a mall, I called Bob at Animal Cremation Society of Chicagoland. Within 30 minutes he met me at the Bohemian National Cemetery and I immediately knew I made the right choice for my cherished kitty Stanley. For a fraction of the price ($100) I have his ashes, a small vial for scattering, a paw print in clay with his name, a sample of his fur and some small memorial figurines. Additionally, he was able to turn around the ashes within a day. He was so warm and truly felt for me. He is in it for the right reasons and that is to help people in need. He will do home pickups any time of day. This man is exactly what you need when your world is shattered. I was hysterical when I dropped off my cat and I knew he would be taken care of by someone who would treat him as his own. I'm telling anyone I know with older or sick pets to be prepared and when it happens, go to Bob...who won't treat your pet like a number and a charge to the credit card. More...

I cannot say enough great things about Bob Shaw and this company!  So kind and compassionate.   Our dog passed early morning and our vet is closed on Sunday. I quickly googled and found ACS.   I called , spoke to Bob and he was at my home in less than an hour to pick up our beloved dog (Edy). He said she'd be ready by Monday or Tuesday for us to pick up.   I received a call from Bob at 6:20pm that same day to let me know that Edy was ready and that he had to go pick up another dog near me and that he'd drop Edy off to us on his way.   Talk about amazing!!  She came with her paw prints in clay, her ashes in an urn, locks of her fur, a decorative rock and a couple of other mementos.  I definitely recommend! I can't recommend Bob and ACS enough!During the extremely difficult time of making cremation arrangements for a recently deceased pet, Bob's caring demeanor and compassion over the phone and in person was very appreciated. He truly cares about pets and his clients and treated us both with respect and dignity. This is an amazing service. In a time where you have just lost your family member, the last thing you want to focus on is what to do next. Bob made it so very easy. He offered to come pick up my snake, because I was in his area, but I decided to just take him there. I got to see the location, and yes, it is a cemetery. But that's where I feel it should be. The area is clean and organized. I got to stay there as my snake was cremated. It's a reassurance to know that he only does one animal at a time. Other places freeze your loved one and then cremate many together and you end up with communal ashes. No thanks for me. Bob is a lovely man, very kind and compassionate to my loss. This was the first time I had a pet pass at home.  I wasn't sure what to expect as my vet was closed for the evening and I couldn't handle keeping my cat in the house until the morning.  I found Chicago Pet Crematorium in a search online and I am so grateful I did.  Not only were they helpful on the phone but the booking process was simple.  Within an hour of making a reservation, Bob was at my door to pick up my cat.  Bob actually apologized for taking so long due to a storm we were having but I was truly impressed at how quickly he arrived.  The carrier he had included a bed and blanket to make everything seem less cold and sterile.  Less than two days later I received a phone call that he was ready to be dropped off.  My neighbor was at home and met him for me.  To my surprise not only did I get the ashes and the container I purchased but several paw print casts (with his name in one) and a sample of his fur.  This is a shining example of a company that exceeds expectations and makes an already heartbreaking situation easier.  Both myself and many of my friends will be using this service moving forward as we need to.  Thank you for everything you do.
