For those couples like Chris and I, we are young and in love. We love the “do it ourselves” projects, save money tips, and to get the best deal while also having everything we ever dreamed of. When Andrea first told me that she owned an event planning business, I was hesitant. I was determined that I could do everything on my own and that I couldn’t afford to have an event planner. What do you love most about your job?
My favorite part of an event is seeing a client enjoying themselves at their own event. When they can sit back, breathe and have fun that means I've done my job. Regardless of whether we've helped throughout the entire process or just come in on the day-of the event seeing that result makes all the work worth it. It's seeing a client as a guest that gives me chills, makes me excited and gives me passion doing my job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Andrea Lyn Events was founded in January 2021 after a hiatus in professional event planning post having 4 kids in 6 years! Andrea Lyn graduated from Mizzou with a Hospitality Management degree. She worked at Les Bourgeois on their event staff, was a student manager at the Gathering Place Bed & Breakfast and worked various roles at The University Club of MU before finishing as the Wedding & Private Events Coordinator.
When approached in November 2020 to plan and host a Covid wedding, Andrea Lyn fell right back into the swing of professional event planning. She and her husband, Jonathan, looked at each other and realized, "why not take the step and start our business we've always wanted to?" Thus they began Andrea Lyn Events and began designing and executing events all around Columbia. From small intimate gatherings to large corporate events, Andrea Lyn Events brings a personal touch to event planning where the client is made to feel like a guest at their own event!

Our planning services can be conducted online via video call, phone call and text. Our online workspace allows clients to stay connected with us during the entire planning process. Clients will have all the plans needed to conduct a successful event and communicate their exact needs with vendors and venues.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have begun to offer virtual meetings instead of in-person, wear masks whenever required or requested and maintain high cleanliness standards in our event preparation and execution.
