As a soon to be previous employee I’ve really been wanting to let current and future customers know how great this business is. Over my year with Amoré, the owners have really replenished my faith in working for a small mom and pop shop. The owners have gone above and beyond to provide a comfortable means of living (regarding pay and scheduling) for the employees that work hard, show up and genuinely care about the company. After a cluttered week of my ***hole boss riding my a** and my wife whining about my alcohol problems to our marriage counselor, I thought a pizza would be a nice escape from my downward spiral of a life. On Friday, I threw the wife and the daughter into the car and headed our way over to Amore Pizzeria. Unfortunately, the escape I was desperately in need of was almost immediately cut short once we walked into Amore. To my surprise, my ***hole boss was sitting right in the center of the restaurant! Matt (the ***hole boss) waved me over as the host led my family over to a table. I stood there for a second, then began to drag myself over to where he was sitting. As I approached, I was almost immediately awestruck by the natural, golden beauty of the woman he was with. Matt introduced me to her. "Funny seeing you here, Carter!" Matt said with his thin smile. "Likewise." I replied. "This is my new friend Sabrina! Sabrina, this is Carter Wallace, he works at the marketing firm I manage." She daintily shakes my hand, looks at me, and smiles. "How do you do, Sabrina?" I charmingly said. Before Sabrina could answer, Matt jokingly grabs our hands and separates them. "Hey! Stop getting handsy with my date!" He proclaims. I make an obviously fake laugh. A beat passes of no one saying anything. How did Matt manage to catch such a good lookin' lady like Sabrina? I'm leagues way better looking than him yet I have a 7 of a wife (on a good day) while Matt has a smokin' 9 of a girl. I couldn't let him get away with this. I needed to ruin this for him. "I didn't take you for a pizza guy! I'd expect something a little more high-end from you, especially considering the fact that it appears like you're on a date." I pursed with minimal disdain, hoping this comment would get under his skin. "Well, she told me she was Italian so I figured a place like this would appease her tastes nicely." Matt replied, seemingly unphased by the mild rudeness I was displaying. "How is it, Sabrina?" Sabrina sets her slice of pepperoni down, smiles, and gives him a thumbs up. "I must try a slice for myself then! I'm gonna go sit down with my family, but I hope you and Sabrina continue to have a classy evening. See you on monday!" A former favorite, we will never again support Amore after last night's delivery. We ordered our standard, 18-inch pepperoni pizza. Each a slice in at the time, my husband took a bite into his second slice and immediately groaned -- he bit into a penny-sized piece of what appeared to be jagged plastic or maybe even ceramic!? We immediately called the restaurant, and were put in touch with presumably the manager on duty. I explained what happened, and his solution? A gift card. Had I not been so upset, I'd have laughed out loud. A gift card!? I explained that our experience was so terrible that we'd never be making another order, much less need a GIFT CARD. I immediately requested a refund, but was again told he could offer a gift card. I followed up immediately with DoorDash, placed a formal complaint, and a half hour later received notification that my order had been refunded, as requested. This could have been a horrible accident, and I feel no real ownership was taken. The gentleman on the phone went through the motion of an apology, but seemed more bothered by my letting him know than wanting to ensure my husband wasn't injured. I love everything about ordering delivery or carry out from this place, the pizza is fantastic and the antipasto salad are my favorite things! Although everything I've had here is wonderful like the meatballs and other pepperoni stuffed breadsticks. We also get every single time I've never seen those anywhere else! I ordered this for about every birthday party or get together because it's so easy and they're so spot on and they even cut my pizza in the squares which we're all obsessed with upon request! This place is a hidden gem! The food was very good. This is thin crust, New York style pizza. The service is unbelievable. Every time we have been there, they are extremely nice and helpful. Don't order delivery from Amore. Bought a pie from them on Sunday 12/4. They use doordash. We got notification saying it was delivered but we didn't get it. Called and were told "they fulfilled their obligation" so we need to contact doordash in California, then they hung up on me. Pizza by the slice. They have at least four vegetarian pizzas available along with other pizzas with meat toppings on their front counter. So I tried the Greek with kalamata olives, spinach, and feta. I also had the Margarita. Margarita is a reliable pizza variety anywhere I go. And it's good here. They don't over saturate their pizzas with cheese, which is great. I was a bit disappointed that their garlic knots were dry outside and doughy inside, not fluffy and light like other places I've had. They also sell calzones, pastas, and whole pizzas. This is one of my favorite pizza places in Zionsville. Our favorite it the stuffed pizza which comes with all the meats between two crusts. They also have great calzones. My only complaint is they use some canned ingredients like mushrooms. I prefer fresh but we've been going here for years because the whole family loves it. When they cook the pizza perfectly then it's amazing. Indiana pizza joint like their crust soft and thick but I love my crunchy and thin. Every time I ask for them to cook longer they look at me like I'm crazy. It's not burnt, it's delicious and flavorful. Just the New York way I guess. There are few things I enjoy more than finding a great pizza place.  I was over in Zionsville for the first time recently and was a little hungry, so I wanted to find something local to try.  I found this place here on Yelp, and decided to give them a try.  And they did not disappoint.  The place reminded me of a lot of New York City Pizza place.  You walk in, and you immediately see the pizzas on display ready for you to order a slice.  It is counter service.  You order, they give you a number, a drink cup, you take a seat, they bring out your food.  They were a fairly friendly staff.  The place was very clean.  My food arrived vet quickly.  The pizza had a perfect ratio of sauce & cheese and was perfect paper thin, New York Crust.  And they were beautiful slices, not squares like you find in a lot Midwest Pizza places when you order thin crust. It was great.  My only knock, and it's not really a knock, for two slices of cheese, one pepperoni & a fountain drink was $18.  Next time I'll definitely order a whole pie, which is the more cost efficient option.  I wanted to try it first.  But it is worth the price and definitely one of the best pizzas in the Indianapolis area, and worth the trip over to Zionsville.  Highly Recommended. Wet happy I started goin back here again the last month! Been twice and the service, efficiency and quality of the food has been amazing!   The management or staff has really steeped it up and been on top of it again. It's always fairly busy but still get the food out quickly and the team is always very friendly and hospitable.    I usually just get breadsticks , but they are so delicious. Much better than any other pizza place around. And their sauces to accompany are just as great the cheese sauce is well seasoned and perfect consistency. Not watered down or bland like some places. And the pizza sauce is chunky with great ingredients. It all always tastes so fresh and warm out of the oven!!   I wanted to update my review instantly after my last visit bc those were some the best and most fresh breadsticks I've ever had in my life. This was a good place to stop for lunch! The food was very fairly priced for lunch and it was good. I got the Meat Lovers and 2 Breadsticks with cheese and marinara sauce. In the mood for the most favorable, fresh made pizza ever? A WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE BUSINESS.Been going to this local hot spot since moving into Zionsville. Not once has the quality dropped. You can order anything and it is yummy.They offer by the slice pizzas that are constantly selling out and being replaced with fresh pies. From traditional breadsticks to calamari you have a lot to select from besides pizza. What we love is how this is a mom and pop owned business and the food is like homemade.My goto pizza is their Greek pizza. It is the  best thing since sliced bread.The crust is what I call medium thick. It is not mushy, and these slices are about 2 normal slices from most anyplace else.The outer crust is firm and crunchy outside and fluffy inside. It is just the right amount of toasted that leaves you feeling happy. Well it does that to me at least.For wheelchair users this place is way bigger inside than it appears. Many times the front area is full. No worries they have a huge room that can be rented for probate parties. And when not used for that it is open for everyone to use. The only spot that can be a little tight especially for power wheelchair users is the drink, silverware area. It is a great family place to go. Kids if all ages enjoy the simple joys of great fresh made food.The area that wheelchair users might have a little trouble with is because it is right across from the cashier. It would cost a bit to remodel things to move either location to better allow for more room. Customers are always fine with me needing a bit of turn around space. Saying pardon me or excuse me goes a long way also.Don't let this sway you from at least popping in and enjoying the best pizza in our town. They also do pick up carry out.I do think Grub Hub also works with them for delivery. We have used this service and it was great. Don't  forget to properly tip your delivery person.  I double the tax and round up to the next even amount. In case that helps.I don't think they offer delivery directly as it is such a small business. Since 2013 we have been enjoying this amazing gem. No idea the hours of this place, it's insane. Over the last 2 years I have visited this place 7-8 times and 6 of them they have been closed. I'm from New York and find this pizzeria to be closest to New York style around here in Indy. Sicilian is very good, plain cheese can be perfect sometimes. Garlic knots are cold and not good. It is nice to have options when your dining companion wants pizza. Especially when he ACTUALLY orders lasagna. The night we were there, people who had pre-ordered stood in the same line we did to order. Our food was brought to the table fairly quickly by a server, with lasagna and bread arriving first. Lasagna tasty but not hot, just warm. We did not know the giant slab of lasagna would come with garlic knots, so we ordered breadsticks. (You have to order even numbers if breadsticks.)My hot Italian sub arrived a while later; the sub bread was not what I expected- more like a flat bread than typical. Won't order that again. beware! This is my first time leaving a review for any establishment I have been to in my life. We ordered two large pizzas for the family, pizza was over cooked and the sauce was very old and tasted like reused sauce as if they combine an older sauce with more and then just keep adding to it. Also possible that the sauce was left out and not refrigerated properly. At any rate, the worst part is that two hours after consuming the pizza the entire family vomited for the next two days, and it was all sauce coming up. The only common food that the whole family had consumed had been is the pizza. We called the establishment the next day and asked to speak with a manager or owner. The staff was reluctant and defensive asking who we were instead of trying to help. Staff took down our phone number and name and said we would get a callback from a manager or owner and we never did. This place needs a random food inspection in the kitchen.
