The data coming out from a company via the financial reports, is only as good as the data going in to it. An experienced accountant will ensure that the monthly data going in is accurate and reliable on a regular, monthly basis so that reports being generated are dependable. In addition, it is important to have someone who can properly advise on business structure and processes that will maximize tax benefits. A bonus, which I do, is to be able to offer guidance on what type of accounting software will make my client's work more efficient and streamlined at the most affordable price.

I love that my business is multi-faceted. I like that I can walk an entire journey with my customers. Since I am trained on a variety of software packages and have a variety of industry specialties under my belts, I can really help my customers in the most meaningful ways! I like the feeling of accomplishment when I am able to help my clients sort out their needs and provide real solutions.

I saw that there was a niche where assistance for small businesses in the area of technical support and affordable bookkeeping were lacking. I felt that small businesses should also have more customizable approaches with regards to choosing a system and processes that meet both GAAP requirements while allowing each company to work in their own unique ways.

In addition, I have been a freelancer for over four years. It started with a desire to restore some semblance of balance back in my life. To be able to work and do what I love and leave enough time for the other more important aspects of my life like volunteering, parenting and learning. I spent approximately 10 years in the corporate sector and while I will always treasure the experience and education that it provided, I reached a precipice where I knew change was needed. I wanted to do more than just accounting. I wanted to get involved in software and technology.

So, that is what I did. I set out on my own, created my own company as a freelancer that combines accounting experience with software knowledge to be able to provide well-rounded advice on choosing appropriate packages, implementing them, training on them, providing customer support and then in most cases, continued accounting oversight. I noticed that there was such a strong need for ones that had expertise in both!

I have a very long history in both the technical and accounting field. I am certified and an industry expert in QuickBooks, Xero and Sage. I volunteer for the local SBA chapter and provide accounting related seminars to instruct on the proper bookkeeping methods for operating a business. I standby my work and am very responsive to my client's individual needs.

Separately, I enjoy a really, really good cup of French-pressed coffee. I am an aficionado on coffee and good beer. In fact, I have several customers who are coffee shop owners and beer brewers and has incorporated that into my work passion; providing those industry insights as well. I look forward to a challenge!
