Hey, so nice to see you stop by! I'm Amber, a 20 year old college student and aspiring photographer. I've grown up in all parts of North Carolina imaginable and I've seen the amazing natural and man-made backdrops this state provides for photography -- I've always had an incredible interest in the arts, but the photographical opportunities NC provides was too much to pass on.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Of course lighting, knowing your camera, all of the technical aspects are incredibly important. But if you are not comfortable with your client and your client is not comfortable with you, there is no way those photographs are coming out amazing! Getting to know who you are taking photos of not only adds more personality to the photos themselves, but it provides an overall incredible service to the client and brings out more of what makes them their own person. It's those traits I want to bring out in my photography so each session is completely different!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It depends on the type of service they are looking for, but I will usually ask a few basic questions that can apply to all services I have listed.
What made you select me as your photographer?
(If the session is in North Carolina) Are you native to North Carolina? If not where are you originally from?
What are you looking for in our session; is there any specific shot or idea you really want to incorporate into our photoshoot?
I like to ask personal questions, such as what inspires you or something simple, such as what is your favorite color? It's these personal touches, especially in my portrait photography, that really enhance the entire experience and add personality to the edited photos!
What do you love most about your job?
I love the feeling that comes with helping a client feel confident, artistic, and self-assured in the photos we take and the creativity we express as we shoot together. I look forward to having the opportunity to bring your vision to life, whether it be through an artsy portrait session or photographing your wedding day -- help me create something that represents you!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had always had an interest in photography and videography (currently taking courses on introductory videography!!!), but grew up in a family that never really had the means to support such an expensive hobby. I would use super cheap children's cameras, film cameras from Walgreens, anything I could get my hands on to take pictures of the neighborhood dogs or a weird crack I saw in the sidewalk walking home from my bus stop.
It wasn't until I got to college that I was able to afford a proper Canon DSLR and start exploring the world of professional photography as I've tiptoed my way in this particular door. With school, working full-time in customer service, and traveling to and from my hometown to see my family, it's a balancing act to keep up with for sure -- but in all honesty, that's what makes it all truly worth it.

I want to be a photographer that represents you -- the client! My overall vision for the photoshoot comes from what you are looking for, what inspired you to search for a photographer, etc. I'm here to not just deliver a gallery of photos for you to have, but to make sure that I am providing a top-notch service that is personalized and catered to you!
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Social distancing is a huge part of my practice -- as the photographer with a full lens kit, I do not need to be closer than six feet to anybody! I also wear a mask to every single photoshoot and do not remove it and ask my clients to wear one until it is time to shoot, where they can then remove their masks as we take photographs.
Portraits
Photography aimed to the individual -- or you can bring your friends! I want to capture who you are, what you enjoy, or maybe just something creative with you as the subject. My single portrait photography can also branch out to you and your friends, whether it's in my makeshift indoor studio or outdoors at your favorite location, with your cat or next to your favorite painting. Branding, personal enjoyment, or to document your senior status in college or high school; if you can think of it, I can do it.
Couples Portraits
This is a photography service aimed towards -- you guessed it -- couples! LGBTQ+ (of course) welcome, whether you are dating, engaged, or renewing your vows or simply want to have a fun session with your significant other!
Family Portraits
Sometimes it's hard to capture a good picture of your little one as he or she is running around your house while you're trying to get your Christmas cards. Don't worry about it -- I can do it for you! Photography centered around families big and small, I want to help you remember these moments, the good, the silly, and the candid, through wonderful family session! And yes, I do count pets as family as well :)
Wedding/Event
Of course you want someone to be there for some of your biggest days to capture those amazing moments in a freezeframe you can look to for the rest of your life -- and I would love to be that someone! Whether you're just looking for a second (or main!) shooter for your wedding, someone to capture the reactions at your baby shower, or any other event you want photographed, I'm already excited for the opportunity. From candid photos at the event to posed shots with friends and family, I've definitely got you covered.
