The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious, clean, comfortable with down blanket and pillows. The hotel is older, but quite well kept and true to its historic charm. Really beautiful to see. We had a great room on the top floor, overlooking the Milwaukee skyline with views to the East and North. During the Christmas season, the lights are even better. Lots of windows and good curtains to block out the sun if you like to sleep in. The shuttle service and drivers were very friendly, courteous, and timely. Would definitely stay here again. More...

Five Star Service for a 2 Star Price! The word grateful does not capture the immense gratitude I have for the Ambassador Hotel and the staff. Poetry hides in the very fabric their customer service is composed of. Our room was clean and fabulous, the food at the bar and restaurant was superb, and the staff even went out of their way to shuttle us to the Bucks game and back. And, when I realized I forgot to pack distilled water for the CPAP machine. They went above and beyond to help me get it. So, Ambassador Hotel now has a customer for life! See you soon! More...

Ambassador was solid with regard to room quality and general ambiance. Where it excelled was the in-house restaurant, which was absolutely fantastic. Minor complaint with the Parking situation, specifically the distance from the garage to the front door, but it’s minor if you have no mobility impairments. More...

We only stayed for one night but had a nice stay. The rooms were large and the bed was comfy. It was also quiet, with no noise from the hallway. I loved the historical details in the lobby and the doorman was very helpful. My only wish is that the room had a fridge. More...

My wife and I were impressed by how much this hotel has maintained its standards. We stayed here a few years ago and took a chance by booking again. We believe the place has improved from very good to excellent. The room was comfortable and quiet even though it was on the street side. Being a Sunday stay the main restaurant was not operating but the bar service was exceptional. GinRicky is what it was called. The food was exceptional; the service was excellent; the wine list was thoughtfully chosen and respectfully priced (a rare occurance today). I recommend this hotel without reservation. Midwestern friendliness melded with continental service: a hard act to follow. This place is a good value. More...

I would much prefer a room with a mini fridge rather than a stocked fridge with overpriced snacks/drinks. It would also be a very good idea for them to buy a new computer system for travelers that come down to the lobby to print boarding passes, etc. The current one is slower than dial-up. That being said, the rooms themselves were really nice, if a little old. The rooms are large and comfortable. We split this trip between Milwaukee and Manitowoc, but we left wishing we had spent all of our nights at the Ambassador even if it would have meant more time driving. Its a cool hotel More...

This is our go-to hotel anytime we come to town for concerts at the Rave/Eagles Club and it never disappoints. The staff, the facility, the location and the general atmosphere are amazing. We generally book third party and they're always very accomidating; there's never an issue at check-in or check-out. The hotel is also conveniently located within a short distance of the Mitchell Park Domes (botanical gardens) and the Riverwalk (with the Fonze statue).||||This time around we opted for breakfast room service from The Fitz Restaurant; absolutely delicious, if not a bit pricey with the Room Gratuity automaticially being taken out. The gentleman we dealt with, Ike, was extremely personable and very kind. More...

Stayed two nights here while visiting for an interview. The location is tough to beat, close to downtown, not far from the airport. I loved the classic and historic look and feel of the hotel, very Gatsby-sequel. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were decently sized, plenty of hot water and the heating worked great. I got a great deal for $99/night and was very pleased. One complaint is that small sundries you may get for free at most hotels from the front desk (ibuprofen, combs, toothpaste etc) are charged for here, however I was quite ill and the staff graciously did not charge me $4 each for packets of 2 ibuprofen. On that note, the staff were all very courteous and helpful. More...
