It is what it is, but its good for what it is. Brat, schnitzel, 50s country swing band - relaxing, entertaining dancehall or dinner with table service atmosphere. Food is very good if not stellar. Well worth a visit to get pre- or post-winery food. ;) and amongst our group, we tried the full range of menu items. But, yes, loved it! Great food, clean place, and friendly staff, but this place was full of big groups so it took a while to get seated and the staff seemed to be too busy to help us get our table. This place would have gotten 5 stars from me but the bartender at the main bar had such a horrible attitude. I was a paying customer asking to purchase a can to take home and she stated that they aren't doing cans. After asking why, she looked at another bartender and asked if they felt like making a can. The process of filling up the can and sealing it took no longer than 3 mins. This person should not be at the main bar, but should be washing dishes with that attitude. More...

Love the Altstadt Brewery! The edifice is incredible! Such a beautiful building! Have eaten there twice, and BOTH meal experiences were great! Had a Beer flight as well, and it (they) were also - ALL excellent! VERY impressed! Just needs to address the entrance/exit situation at 290, and it will become a perfect experience!Staff folks were attentive & knowledgeable & friendly! Will be going back, for sure!
