Amazing!!!! I had alliance bakery do my cake for my 25th dinner. I'm a huge disney and ariel fan. So I wanted a "Littel Mermaid" cake. It was the first time I ever planned my own birthday weekend so everything had to be perfect! I emailed them with 2 ideas on what cake I wanted. They replied back fast with an EXTRA option for my cake!! I truly appreciated it. I chose my cake and they said they could have it ready for me by the time I needed. Due to the stress from planning I accidentally gave them the wrong date and needed it 1 day before. They understood and were very accommodating. I don't recall the gentleman I spoke with but he was very nice and even told me where I could get my cake decor! I haven't had a cake since I was a little girl. And I've always wanted a mermaid cake! They definitely exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend them! They were absolutely wonderful and my cake was PERFECT! I have tried many cinnamon rolls in my life, and Alliance Bakery's rolls still blew my mind. They are warmed perfectly and taste of absolute perfection. This little cafe serves Colectivo coffee (used to be Alterra) from Milwaukee at a cheaper price than the neighboring cafes that serve the exact same coffee. I ordered a custom vegan cake for my husband's 40th birthday. Shelby was delightful on the phone and had good ideas to brainstorm the design. The end result was absolutely wonderful - both visually and in taste. One of the very best vegan cake I've ever had. Everyone (most of them non vegans) raved about it. Wow! We were back in Chicago to celebrate the daughter's birthday. We had been dreaming Alliance Bakery dreams since we had one of their wonderful cookies during a previous visit. At that time we decided one of their cakes was an imperative when planning a future celebration. We perused their cake gallery on the Alliance website.  So many gorgeous cakes that we found it difficult to choose. Since she is now in Chicago we decided to go with a Chicago skyline silhouetted against a sunset. The cake was vanilla with vanilla buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream icing. We hired Alliance Bakery for our cake and mini desserts for our wedding in June. Our 4 tier wedding cake had different flavors and fillings for each tier. We had a combination of hazlenut, vanilla, and almond cake with raspberry or strawberry preserves, and white chocolate mouse. We had red velvet cupcakes, strawberry and raspberry macarons for mini desserts.

My husband and I did notice after the fact that the design was a little off from what we decided upon. We had requested ribbon around the cake board and gold flaking. However, there was ribbon around each tier, and no gold flaking. Our florist provided floral to cascade throughout the cake. Luckily, I actually think what they gave us looks better than what we had agreed upon in the contract, despite the error. More...

My experience started off a little bumpy. I came in to get some information about a custom cake, and was greeted by a less than enthusiastic teen at the counter. .. sigh... I'll leave it at that because the rest of the experience was phenomenal!My friend who swears by their quality told me to overlook the first impression and email about the cake, and I'm glad I listened! I sent a picture and the lady who responded was helpful, pleasant and patient (via email and phone), answered all my questions and worked within my budget. And a month later i picked up a masterpiece that was so perfect people couldn't even believe it was a cake! It was perfect for our son's party and it tasted as good as it looked! The man who rang me out was super kind and even carried the cake to the car for me. All future special occasion cakes will come from here.
