Beautiful place. Great accents and really delightful. Popped in for New Years and we were digging the tunes! Oh yes, a little DJ station was set up and we were moving and grooving through dinner. Shoulder shake and shimmy! Great drinks and nice specials! We ordered a nice little sample of quite a few items. My pictures were blurry but the crab fried rice was dynamite but the claws were super sharp and I did a couple of pricks- Wahh. The other items were fabulous, I love the duck item, the dumplings, the rolls were good too. Nice night! More...

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for months and finally got the chance and I'm so glad I did. As soon as I entered the restaurant I was greeted by a very pleasant hostess. The restaurant was busy but that is to be expected (it was a Friday evening). The restaurant has a small dinning area and is decorated very stylish and hip. There was a Dj in the back playing 80' to early 90's hits. The bartenders were very attentive with everyone waiting no more than 30 seconds to acknowledge them to place an order. The bar seemed to be a full service bar.I'm only giving four stars due to our waitress she seemed disinterested in working and not as pleasant as some of the other waiters/waitress. The food was delicious we ordered yellowtail sashimi which unfortunately we sent back because it was salty, calamari, Brussels and the fried rice which all dishes deserve a five star rating. More...

We came here at about 8:45 on a Thursday night and just a heads-up; the music is cool and 80's and loud so if you want a quiet experience come earlier. Starting out Super-NIce bartender that was kind to notice my underaged daughter and comped her a pretty pink soda drink; great bar andmenu. That being said some of the best Thai/Asian cuisine I have had in a long time. I was with my daughters and we had the fried rice with shrimp which was perfect; shu mai dumplings exceptional; brussel sprouts that were spicy and sweet and I can't imagine how they made them taste so good; perfect sushi and calamari. Wonderful and sweet waitstaff; very nice gentleman coming and filling water and cleaning up your table every few minutes; just anattentive staff; perfect food, lovely and cozy atmosphere.Highly recommend; just come early if you want to avoid the loud and fun80's music. We will be back for sure, a true treasure! More...

Experience is fantastic. Great for a date night with darker lighting and a sexy vibe. The drinks were great and the food was fantastic. We tried the salmon and fried rice. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is we were disappointed with the service. I noted that it was our anniversary in the reservation, but no one at the restaurant made any mention of this. Asked to switch tables for better seating, but was told it was already taken for another reservation. Waitress seemed disinterested and just wanted to take our order. The food is a 2.5 the atmosphere is a 5. Came late on a Friday night, the dj was poppin, the decor here is a beautiful mid-century theme. Got the lo mein with shrimp for $22, the shrimp was cut in tiny pieces and I've had better lo mein for $5.99 at my hole in the wall neighborhood Chinese joint but the atmosphere was really fun. It is a small quaint restaurant and we didn't have to wait for a table so I'm not complaining much. More...

Alice is very cute restaurant. The moment you walk in the restaurant there is cute seating that is covered outside seating with beautiful interior decoration with mirrors and pillows. Inside there are 2 areas the main seating area and the back room area with seating and a karaoke bar for a fun night of tunes. We were here for a birthday. The food was very good. Alice is BOMB! Excellent food, fun retro vibes, and incredible service. We sat outside on the patio on an unseasonably cool evening in July (cool = not 95 degrees), and enjoyed a beautiful meal. The dark floral/classy 80s vibes and decor totally set the stage- we couldn't stop raving about the brass swan faucets in the bathroom! Inside it's a little loud and scene-y, but outside on the patio it was super chill and easy to hear each other. We had the best time. We ordered the yellowtail sashimi, steamed buns, watermelon salad (artfully arranged), duck fried rice(!!), and a few sushi rolls. Definitely recommend the lychee martini, the dragon and Alice rolls, the yellowtail, and the DFR. Really everything was on point. Our server Trisha was chill, kind, and prompt. She accidentally spilled a tiny bit of my friend's martini while serving it and comped her a whole new one. So unnecessary but awesome service! We loved everything. We will definitely be back, with more friends and with a reservation! More...

I'd give the food an A+; we had watermelon salad (surprisingly delicious!), vegetarian pad thai, Brussels sprouts (w/ no oyster sauce), chicken yakitori. I appreciated that they had cocktail specials, but opted to keep it simple w/ whiskey. The vibe in the restaurant is great (and so was the music). Definitely plan to come back here. My only complaint is we were somewhat rushed by our waitress at the end of our meal (we were finishing our entrees), but I assume that's bc she was ready to head home herself. More...

This place deserves much better ratings! We've been 3 times and each time we've ordered something a bit different and each time the food is to die for. My friends aren't much for sharing and neither are we so we usually order our own dishes. Each time I have gotten a fantastic salad and they have kept it vegan for me. My husband and friends love the Wagyu, omg! They still talk about it. The edamame and shishito is also a great start.  We all agree the Lychee drink is 5/5. BUT what really set this place apart for us was the service. We walked in (group of 4) without a reservation on a Friday night (n00bs) and the manager somehow ended up giving us the best seat in the house. The chef even came to our table so we could thank him for an excellent meal. We recommend this place to all our friends. Excellent food, service, and drinks. 10/10 recommend. More...

A very cute little comfortable chic getaway located a short distance from downtown. My husband made a reservation which unfortunately we were late for but still granted. Friday evening at 7 pm was FULL! Very few seating for walk-ins and the bar isn't large so seating is limited as well. We were greeted by very friendly staff. We ordered yellow tail sashimi, brussel sprouts, coconut curry mussels, shu mai dumplings, and the egg noodles. This was a great amount for two hungry guests. Our favorites were the yellowtail, mussels, and dumplings. Those are all a must! Might as well order extra bread for the abundance of mussel broth. We added the special homemade spicy sauce for just a small kick. Cocktails were very very good and well worth the price. We had a very strong clementine old fashioned, a lychee martini, and a glass of their Malbec. Great pours as well. My only complaint is that seating is very close to other tables that the loud music makes for loud conversation. More...

Intimate tapas style Asian restaurant located right in the Bryan Place area of Uptown. The inside was very trendy with a disco ball in the middle of the restaurant which goes along with the 80's/90's music they were playing! Unless you wanna take your chances on finding an open seat at the bar, I'd advise calling ahead and making reservations since the seating is limited. We started off our night with a few cocktails. Which if you're looking to try a new cocktail spot, this is the place for you! The clementine old fashion and Alice Mule were excellent. We shared the Fried Rice and the Alice roll. Both were really good and filling. The Chinese sausage in the rice was nice and sweet. The shrimp tasted fresh and were not tiny like what you get in take out fried rice. The Alice roll came with 6 pieces and the wasn't heavily coated with tempura so you could still taste the actual sushi.A little pricey for the amount of food you get but definitely worth the dollar! Had such a great experience at Alice. Came here for a corporate dinner while visiting Dallas and had no expectations going in. The vibe and ambiance reminded me of a hip place in NYC I'd eat at. It's an Asian fusion tapas place and the menu doesn't have any large entree dishes. We tried several things but my favorites were the dumplings, dragon roll, pad thai, sticky buns, Brussels sprouts and shrimp.   Very cool place for a date or group dinner. 1st off Alice is the coolest!  Side street sheik, makes you feel like you're in Chicago. My wife and I had dinner there to celebrate our anniversary and her birthday. Great menu for foodies!  They feature sushi rolls but my wife doesn't eat that, but had plenty other options.  We ordered the brussel sprouts and edamame and peppers to start; the spouts were to die for!  My wife said they were great!  The edamame has some kind of seasoning that I didn't like, but she loved it. I like spicy food, but those peppers where hot as $&!t!  I couldn't eat them. The menu was so interesting, so we ordered the fried rice, grilled salmon and beef&broccoli.  The rice was fantastic! Fresh, tasty with the yummy shrimp and sausage. The salmon was also good, cooked medium.  Came with very tasty veggie that the called cauliflower!?  Never seen cauliflower like that but whatever...it was good. The beef and broccoli really exceeded my expectations.  A healthy portion of rice with plenty of sauce, and tender beef. They gave us a chocolate mousse cake with a candle...very rich and flavorful.  Too rich for me though. Overall a great experience, and it turns into karaoke after dinner! More...

Loved this spot! I'd heard great things but often find I'm unimpressed with the new hot spot despite others' rave reviews; however Alice did not disappoint! I did my yelp review research and got the dishes that most people recommended which made for a successful first visit. We got the brisket steamed buns, brussel sprouts, shu mai dumplings, and pad thai which was more than enough for 2 people. The steamed buns came 3 to an order and were packed with flavor. Loved the combo of flavors in the shu mai pork and shrimp dumplings, 6 to an order. The pad thai was good, had a little kick to it, but was my least favorite of the dishes...mostly because it just didn't stand out from pad thai dishes I've had elsewhere. I agree with other reviewers that the brussel sprouts might be the best I've ever had! Great crisp, perfectly browned, not burned or mushy, with delicious oyster sauce. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes, but the brussel sprouts will be a dish I order every time. The cocktail menu is short, consisting of 6 choices but all reasonably priced in my opinion between $10-12 at the time I went. I enjoyed my clementine rye old fashioned and can see myself coming back for cocktails at the beautiful bar.The restaurant is quite small, but it felt cozy and intimate. The decor is stunning with an elevated vintage vibe such as deep green velvet couches, palm leaf and flamingo wallpaper and a disco ball. They played great music like Phil Collins, Gloria by Laura Branigan, and Higher Love by Steve Winwood. Not sure how the back room works but apparently they have Karaoke, and after some cocktails it was hard not to want to get up and since/dance when song after song were oldies but goodies. The service was good, and we had an attentive, friendly waitress. Overall, I highly recommend Alice and hope people continue to give them their business so we can keep unique spots like this open!
