What kind of accounting services do you provide?
Tax preparation, tax resolution/representation, bookkeeping, accounting, and various other controller/CFO services (month-end close, cash to accrual adjustments, etc).
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
We are here to help you look for ways to save money and keep you out of the authorities' radars. For people that are having trouble with the IRS or state, we can be invaluable translating from accountanese to English and resolving the problem to everyone's satisfaction.
What do you love most about your job?
My favorite part of the job is finding ways for people to save money. A close second is making people feel safe and secure about dealing with the IRS and state agencies. The IRS and state aren't nearly as dystopian or scary as many make them out to be.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Owning my own business has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. Seeing my father run a business was a tremendous inspiration. After enough experience at all levels of business (and marrying another CPA), I finally felt comfortable enough to start my own business.
Why should our clients choose you?
Below are the characteristics that represent me:
-Honest and reliable. If I say I'm going to get something done within a time-frame, I will do it. If there is something that I'm unable to do, I will let you know as soon as possible and will help you find someone who can assist you.
-Fair. I understand that there are tough times in business. The times we need to rely on others the most are the times that we can't afford to rely on others. Cooperation is a two-way street so if you're going to be honest and clear with me, I will work with you in tough times.
-Communicative. I have a 24 hour rule for replying to make sure you always know what's going on. Even if it's just to let you know that I need to research your question further, I will make sure to reply to you within 24 hours. My business hours are irregular but I almost always have access to my e-mails.
-Passionate. Few people grow up wanting to be accountants. I was one of the few that wanted to be a CPA and now I've achieved that goal. Of course I have other hobbies and interests in life, but I genuinely enjoy this line of work.

Due to the wonderful nature of accounting, almost everything can be done online or remotely. There are a handful of items that require mailing (such as tax returns that cannot be e-filed) but most of my work doesn't require you or I step out of the house. That said, I'm
Tax Prep
Tax prep for individuals, corporations (S & C), and nonprofits is my primary line of work. This includes filing to the IRS, state(s), and other regulators (if applicable).
Bookkeeping
Familiar with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, MIP Fund Accounting, and Sage.
Account Setup
Create a chart of accounts to use moving forward.
Cleanup of Books
