Aaron does an amazing job at making you feel calm and very involved. Our Bailey was always ecstatic to see him. Says a lot about a trainer and we love the personal in home training we received.

AJ was awesome with a new puppy Moti, they instantly hit it off. He definitely gave us the building blocks to be better puppy owners. We worked on leash training, kennel training, and getting Moti to like the car. We are very appreciative and look forward to working with AJ again. More...

Q&As

I have been working with dogs and their owners for many years and there is nothing which satisfies me more than to see a happy dog and a happy owner!

A dogs improper behavior is the leading cause for them to be removed from their home and surrendered by their owners to an animal shelter. I have had a talent handling dogs since I was a little child and wanted to further my education in training them to help avoid this statistic from growing.

I am a graduate of Animal Behavior College where I earned my certification as an ABC Certified Dog Trainer. Animal Behavior College (ABC) is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education and is an internationally recognized school. My year long commitment to this program has provided me with a formal education in canine obedience training and understanding behavior and its motives. My certification, education and experience provide me the skills required to effectively and humanely train your dog while keeping alive the spark that makes your dog so special to you.

Services

Private lessons are the perfect place for you and your dog to start the training process. In our lessons, you will have the chance to work with a professional trainer one-on-one. Working one-on-one will allow us to get to know you and your dog and set up a training program that fits you and your dog’s needs and learning styles. And don’t worry, no matter how bad your dog is, we won’t kick you out! We understand that training takes patience and time. Our lessons are approximately 60 minutes each week. We want to make sure you have plenty of time at home to practice. In these lessons you will learn about why your dog does what he or she does, leadership skills, obedience exercises, confidence building exercises, and socialization exercises.

In a basic dog obedience training class, prepare to meet weekly. The sessions typically last for an hour and courses run for approximately 6 weeks. A basic dog obedience training class will cover social behavior, basic training and training-related topics to curb undesirable behavior such as jumping or tugging on the leash.

Note: A basic dog obedience class is not designed to address and solve all your dog’s behavioral problems. This class is designed to provide you and your dog a solid foundation upon which to learn, grow and bond with your dog.

When you attend a basic obedience training class you help your dog understand what you expect of him (sit and stay, or walking well on a leash) and it provides you with the knowledge of how to communicate with your dog. It will strengthen the bond between you and your dog because you will both understand each other better. Also, attending the class will provide your dog exercise, socialization and a sense of accomplishment (many dogs like having “jobs).

During the basic obedience class, expect your dog will learn the basics such as: sit, stay, come, heel and down. If you’d like your dog to receive more in depth training, it’s best that he (and you) master basic obedience before signing him or her up for other classes.

Be sure to approach doggy training classes as a way for you and your dog to strengthen your bond and to deepen the lifelong relationship you both will share.

Starting your Obedience class right after adopting your new dog will get you and your dog on the same page faster. The earlier you start, the easier it is going to be for both of you. Classes teach more than just sit, down, stay, leave it, etc. All dogs benefit from training and positive play games, especially puppies. Working in a group with different types of dogs helps your dog in the real world, where there are all types of dogs Class can be fun and a great way to make new friends (dog and human buddies).

In 6 weeks of the Obedience Class you and your dog can learn how to communicate with each other better than you can ever imagine you would. Communication is the key to a happy life with your dog. Dogs that are well behaved get to go many places. Dogs that are poorly behaved must stay at home. Group classes offer more than appears on the surface. We have classes designed to strengthen your bond and their self-confidence.

This class is designed for dogs 2 months and older who have had no previous training. In this class you learn to teach your dog how to SIT, DOWN, WATCH ME, TOUCH, STAY, LEAVE IT, DROP IT, COME WHEN CALLED, and LOOSE LEASH WALK. The Positive Reinforcement techniques we teach you are simple and easy to use, keeping training fun, and setting both you and your dog up for success. Whether you just adopted your dog or have had your dog since they were a pup, this class will open up the lines of communication between you both, help your dog find value in listening to you, as well as create a harmonious household.
