Ajs Sandwiches

Stopped in for a late lunch. It was still busy but our order was taken quickly by a friendly guy. I ordered the Gold Sox veggie sandwich on Dutch crust at his recommendation. We sat outside on the covered patio. Thankfully there are overhead fans to keep the hot CA summer air moving. The food arrived within a reasonable time and was delivered to our table (not sure if this is common practice) but we didn't hear if they called a number inside. Now the important part, the sandwich was delicious! I'm glad I got a half sandwich, these are HUGE!! Yummy veggies with a spicy (not too spicy) chipotle mayo-yum on a big Dutch crust roll. Ordered a build-your-own sandwich; super easy to do on their website. Requested dutch crunch bread for my sandwich; I think the bread was a little undercooked as there was no crunch to it and visibly it didn't look toasted enough. The sandwich overall though was very tasty (definitely recommend adding the garlic chipotle mayo!). Also ordered the pesto fripes; they were alright, good for those who love scalloped potatoes.Straightforward pick-up. Great sandwiches and salads. The Dutch crunch bread was fantastic. I had a half turkey sandwich and the feta salad. My friend had the tuna melt. All of it was outstanding.

Went to AJ's a few weeks ago for the Rodeo Burger. Wow! Cooked to perfection. The fries........ not such a fan, but overall, both meals I have had at AJ's have been top notch.

I always go a little out of my way on my commute from Sacramento to Chio when I'm here. A.J.'s is some good eatin.' Unique but unpretentious sandwiches served up by folks who clearly take pride in what they do. I travel a lot and I am regularly disappointed by what folks cook and serve with a straight face. it's rare to find folks who not only serve a good meal, but inspire us. This place is reasonably priced and has food that is the equivalent of an orgasm in your mouth. I wish they'd have gluten free bread options for those of us with picky systems, but they can make it into a salad or put it in a bowl without bread. SO GOOD. I'm a vegetarian ( mostly) but when I have a craving for a good Burger, I love AJs! They also have great vegetarian sandwiches. The crew are friendly and the prices are perfectly aligned with the quality. Not a fancy dinner place and sometimes the grill overpowers the oxygen but there's seating out back ( and extra parking) . Great place for sandwiches in Marysville!  Burgers and full sandwiches are pretty big, but they offer half sandwiches on some of their selections.  Had probably the best burger I've had in some time-cooked on a flat top while you wait.  The shop itself is pretty small-so it can get crowded while ordering and waiting.   Only a few tables inside the shop, but it looked like there was a larger seating area out back-though outdoor seating wasn't really an option for the cool rainy day we visited. My husband came here looking for good food after doing some work on our truck. It was a bit confusing to see due to the sign being faded and hard to spot. After we found it however we were pleasantly surprised by the unique yet simple menu. My husband and I both got burgers, which was a burger but in a sandwich form. If you have not been to AJ's you are missing out! My wife and I saw this place on Google and decided we would give it a try because she wanted a hot sandwich. I ordered the neapolitan, and it was the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. The bread was amazingly fresh, the mixture of all the meats meshed perfectly together, oozing cheese, topped with 2 sunnyside up eggs (I was honestly skeptical about as I like making sure the whites are cooked and they ensured were), mixed all with boss sauce. That sauce was amazing. I had the same look on my face as Anton Ego did in Ratattouille with his first taste. Pure ecstasy! This place rocks. Every time I eat here, it's always delicious. My favorite sandwich? Hmm. I wouldn't be able to choose just one! I'll review the "I'll have what they're having," since its what i chose yesterday for lunch. I go for the sliced wheat bread because I don't like too much bread, though their rolls ARE delicious. Just a personal preference is all. Back to the sandwich--so good.
