A little bit pricey but done well and well worth it. Our meals were great and the Peruvian beer and fruit drinks were a good touch. I'm unsure if this place is authentic or not, but there were a couple of Italian & Asian fusion dishes. We asked for extra spice on the side and they delivered with a local pepper salsa; it really brought the dish up a notch. We had the Peruvian pot roast & chicken/cilantro rice. Both wonderful dishes full of flavor that was complemented well with the rice. The empanada is small & pricey but delicately wonderful. I would highly recommend them. This place is definitely a hidden gem. I've never had Peruvian good, so when my friend recommended it, I was a little bit confused. But me being the food lover I am, I will most likely try anything at least once. And I love Latin foods. As you can see, my wife, her friend, and I ordered a decent amount of food to really get a good idea of the quality and taste. I can honestly say I was not disappointed with any of it. Very traditional foods, with flavors to match. You may see reviews about how the empenada is expensive, but the quality of it makes me happy to spend that much. I would definitely order it again. As far as everything else, although it tastes delicious, it is a bit pricey here. My wife and I decided to try Aji Peruvian Grill. We had never had Peruvian food before so we asked the waiter for recommendations. He recommended Chica Morada, a traditional Peruvian beverage to drink and offered us a free sample. It was unique, delicious, and fruity. He recommended Traditional Causa Limena for an appetizer. It was good but it tasted like potato salad with avacado and seafood on top. I'm not a huge potato salad fan. I'm glad I tried it but I wouldn't order it again. There are too many other interesting things on the menu. He next recommended the Ronda Criolla Aji, a Peruvian traditional criollo platter with stir fried beef, creamy chicken, spiced seafood and pot roast with white rice. It was huge and my wife and I split it. The pot roast was good but very heavy and almost reminiscent of osso bucci. The chicken was also good. The seafood was delicious and the sauce was great on the rice. And they all would have been great had we not tasted the stir fried beef with tomatoes and onion. The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful and enhanced with a sauce that had a spice I couldn't identify. Generally I hate cooked tomatoes but with the sauce they were wonderful as were the onions. It will be hard to try something new next time the beef was so good. And for desert they were out of tres leches so we had the flan with carmel sauce. It was good. Oh. I almost forgot the hot sauce. The waiter asked I wanted some so I said yes. The stuff should come with a warning label. It is flavorful but packs some serious heat. Good atmosphere. Good service. The waiter was super helpful and friendly. All in all a very good experience. Obviously the ceviche is a most, I tried Leche de Tigre which has all the flavors that you expect from Peruvian ceviche. Also recommend the Alfajores for dessert are in another level.
