Memories coming up on Snapchat reminded me of my interview here almost a year ago. My dad unexpectedly passed away, my abusive ex I kept alive during his drug addiction cheated on me shortly after & both her and him weren’t going to let me forget it. I’ve been rejected from many salons as an esthetician because of my tattoos and choice of unnatural hair colors & right when I walked in I felt that “I’m not going to fit in here” vibe I’ve felt before because of how high-end it is. When I met the owner, she was the total opposite of what I had faced before. She was extremely nice and nurturing and as someone coming out of trauma and abuse, it was a little overwhelming to take in. I went to work for a smaller salon before moving to Washington DC officially in September. I hope the owner knows I appreciated it, but behind the scenes I was dealing with a lot of battles to the point my mind was being tricked about someone treating me so kindly after everything I had gone through and I just didn’t have enough confidence to work there. Amazing Team! Clara fixed a complete catastrophic failure another stylist created. I will put my hair in there hands going forward. Walking into this salon I received such a good vibe, everyone was so inviting! The receptionist was very professional and welcoming. Its always been hard for me to find a good esthetician I can trust (especially when it comes to my FACE and skin!!!). However Ariel Corl was able to convince me otherwise! I received a 60 minute Goddess customized facial and I promise you, I left the Aeracura Aveda concept salon feeling like a new person! Ariel was very professional and before beginning the facial asked my concerns with my skin. The product that was used on my skin was perfect and my concerns no longer became a concern. The salon was very pretty and had an elegant feel. My full highlights turned out only okay. I wasn't the most pleased with it. The hairstylist was extremely attentive and wanted me to be a happy client. The service was a A+ but the work itself was a strong C- I wouldn't go back for that reason. I think if you need a haircut this would be fine, but for color be very careful who you are seeing. More...
