If you are a floater on average you make $16-$17/hr Regular officers tend to make $14.50- $15.50/hrThe sites you go to pick the pay of the guards. The company itself has no say so. You are NOT allowed to have any piercings on your face or body that are visible (besides ears). Tattoo placement is also a factor, they will look over your arms before you leave the office. Can NOT have long, dramatic nails. Facial hair needs to be maintained regularly for professional appearance. On average your schedule is routine if you have a permanent site. You can decide which shift you prefer.* Tasks that would be expected from you daily*A polite and approachable manner at all times.A reasonable level of physical fitness and strength.Monitored CCTV, burn images to a DVR for policeA trustworthy character.A flexible and responsible approach to the job.The ability to be patient regardless of the situation.Good verbal and written communication skills.Patrolling premises regularly to maintain order and establish presenceMonitoring and authorizing entrance of vehicles or people in the propertyRemoving wrongdoers or trespassers from the areaBeing able to communicate with other officers in a safe mannerMost sites I work at have one guard per shift. Other sites could have two or more. Some sites have supervisor issues. Not stepping up and putting drama away when it's business time. Other supervisors will/do say one thing to your face but talk so much stuff behind your back. Being a new guard at a site with more than 3 officers rotating shifts can become problematic. The process is fast and easy. Apply online, get called for an interview, go in, take a 2-3 question "test", speak with a representative, and they see where you're a good fit. They help with the process of getting your merchant guard license and provide uniform. I was placed at Safeway Distribution Center. The management is awesome! I've been working for Advantage for 6 years after having worked for 3 other companies in the past. There's a reason I've been here this long. Are they perfect? No, of course not. Do they care that they aren't and try to get better? Every day. They've worked with my shifting school schedule and my changing needs in a site. They've helped me whenever possible. They've been understanding that this wasn't my end goal in career since day 1 and supported my efforts to get my education, and two of them even wrote a letter of recommendation for my job search after I finished school. I'm still searching for that job, but Advantage has been there to help me all the way. This didn't come for free of course. I've worked hard and filled in for others whenever possible. The biggest thing I have to say about them is, if you take care of them by putting in extra effort and taking extra shifts when they need it, they're definitely going to go out of their way to help you when you need it.
