I first went to see Dr. Shur in Nov 2017 for hip joint pain that was just getting worse and had started to affect both hips. I had just assumed I'd be looking at hip replacement but after one treatment with Dr. Shur, almost like magic the pain and discomfort was gone. She adjusted me and gave me inserts for my gym shoes. I even took up running again and the hip pain has never returned. Now 10 months later, my back is starting to give me grief for the first time, so I went to Dr. Shur and found all sorts of things out of kilter so she spent almost an hour with me and put me back together. What a wonderful group of people at Advanced Wellness Center.  They are always very helpful and focused on getting us the appropriate treatment for our situation. Dr. Mark sets a tone of exceptionalism at what he does!  They are really on the cutting edge of so much of what's going on in medicine today!What a difference they've made in my life.  My health and prognosis is great and I give much of that credit to Dr. Mark and the Advanced Wellness Center as a whole.  We're very lucky to have them in our neck of the woods! I moved from MI to CA about 7 months ago, and I am so grateful to find Advanced Wellness Center for my chiropractic care. Dr . I've been coming to Dr.Mark for about 8 years! I'm the worst patient because I only come when I have pain and I stay on track for about 2 to 3 months! Dr. Monica Scott is great!  She asked thorough questions about any pain that I had.  She seems kind and genuinely cares about her patients.  After she carefully examined my neck and spine she adjusted my neck and back.  I have not felt this good in a long time. I was able to sleep throughout the night. Before my adjustment I would normally wake up 2-3 times a night or feel tired every morning.  I feel great now. More...

On a basic consultation, referred by Doctor Monica Scott upon meeting her in my neighborhood, I can actually say I felt comfortable with her appointment. Once arriving,  i was greeted with professionalism. Filled out necessary paperwork before meeting Dr Scott again. Once inside her place of well being, we went over some background, assessments and possible solutions. She is easy to talk to and has a well read sense of her craft. Comfortability is key and she made me feel just that. Her ability to explain her techniques as she works makes it easier to relax, plus adding a sense of humor between adjustments helps make the conversations better.She answered all of my questions thereafter, in ways that made sense. My 30 years of chronic lower back pain has left many Doctors, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists,injections,  etc. baffled.  Going to Dr. Mark with three decades of having this problem unresolved didn't discourage Dr. Mark.  He was incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable, creative and compassionate and, although we weren't able to resolve my situation, we both agreed that it wouldn't be beneficial to continue.  He agreed with my next step (Egoscue therapy) and it turns out we were both right.  I so much appreciated Dr. Mark's amazing efforts along with his support of my trying another modality.  If I ever have another situation that warrants the kind of care he specializes in, I'll definitely return to him. I found dr drew by referral after hvg been to two dermstologists trying every topical and unsuccessful with 3 other acupucturists/Chinese herbal docs. I had just about lost all hope. Correct diagnosis is key but prescribing the correct treatment is what allieviates the problem.Dr drew came through for me. I am so excited about my experience here! I walked in with my shoulder caps at my ear lobes & walked out feeling relieved of tension and that deep neck pain I was carrying around. I got an adjustment that made me feel energized & like my old self again. Dr. Jaimie was fantastic! She was friendly, energetic, knowledgeable & the treatment helped immediately. The only thing that stop me from giving 5 stars is that I've only been here a couple times. Dr Novas has been a really great helping me with my pain. She spent a lot of time with me and shows great care and concern and discusses my treatment options. I found this place 3 years ago (when they were still in Long Beach) while searching for a chiropractor who could help me with my sciatica nerve pain I was experiencing while 6 months pregnant. I was seen by Dr Novas and right away she knew what I was suffering from just by seeing how I was walking. Walked in barely being able to walk straight and in pain and I walk out a new person, with almost no pain at all. She was very careful, always making sure I was comfortable. She also gave me helpful tips to continue at home and after seeing Dr Novas, my sciatica pain was gone. I highly recommend this place because of her. Very professional in everything they do.  All the docs are great and punctual.  Dr. Shur treats me and has treated my kids for sports related injuries. She is very knowledgable and listens to you. My family has been coming to Advanced Wellness for a long time now!  We first started at their old location in Long Beach!  What a great place!  The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.  All of the doctors are phenomenal and have their own different methods of treatment.  The massage therapists work closely with the doctors and make sure they help relieve whatever may be ailing you.  We very rarely get sick, and we feel great!  The kids enjoy going and know the benefits of doing so! Dr. Novas is great. Very down to earth and friendly. I've been going to her about every month or so for the last five years. She readily works around my no-cracking-the-neck requirement, using a variety of other techniques to obtain the same effect.Unlike other chiropractors I've met, she's never pushed herbs or supplements. (The last two chiropractors I'd gone to all told me on my very first visit I had this-or-that imbalance, which would be resolved with this-or-that bottle of supplement.) I'm not against supplements per se. But I follow a highly regimented, organic-focused diet, and found it curious that on the very first visit a chiropractor could diagnose such an imbalance.Speaking of supplements, last year, Dr. Novas did suggest I consider probiotics. We were amazingly on the same page, as I'd spent the previous two weeks researching probiotics. As her recommendation stemmed from six-month+ observation of a right-side weakness possibly due to ICV, I felt her recommendation to be well considered; very different than the sales suggestions I'd received from previous chiropractors. It's hard to sum up five years of superior care, but let me try: The front office staff is friendly and efficient. (There have been staffing changes during the last year or so, but the service remains good.) Appointments are well managed. I think I've only had to wait more than 5 minutes 2 or 3 times in the last five years. And considering that Dr. Novas has sometimes gone over time with me on occasion, I can't complain when she spends extra time with someone else in need. And Dr. Novas' treatments suit me perfectly. Awesome place!! Dr Barbara Shur listens and knows how to fix you up. She is a runner and knows about runner injuries!! I go in to get massage with Blake first for deep tissue. Hurts so good! I was nervous about going to a chiropractor but when my back completely went out and I and was in great pain, I was referred by a friend to go see Dr. Barbara Shur. I am so glad I went to her! My back healed quicker than I imagined it could. I could hardly walk when I went in and within a few days I was walking straight and the pain nearly gone.      Going for a visit is a relaxing and pleasant experience. Dr. Shur is gentle, effective and knowledgeable. I trust her completely. I have now been going whenever I have a problem (for about ten years.) Through the years I have had various pains (shoulder pain, ankle pain) and they have gone away. I still have sciatica, however, but it doesn't flare up too often and when it does, I go straight in to see Dr.Shur.  I have referred many people to her and all have been happy. I have been a patient of advanced wellness center for about a decade now. I suffer multilevel herniated disc which from time to time produce almost paralyzing spasm. For regular monthly chiropractic adjustment, augmented by acupuncture and can kinesiology  based nutrition to reduce inflammation, I have successfully dropped anti-inflammatory medication, and returned to playing tennis. When there is a flareup the team gets me back on the tennis court within about 10 days maximum. Their care has been supported by my orthopedist and contributed to the ongoing avoidance of any surgical alternative. Mark Dedubovey and Barbara Shur offer two different styles of chiropractic neither of which utilizes forced adjustments, and balance my treatment depending upon the circumstance. As you can see,I can't speak highly enough and, to make matters more interesting, I am an attorney with a heavy background in the area of personal injuries and medical malpractice.
