We have a very active 8 month old Alaskan Malamute, McKinley (Mack) and started our training journey with Activated Canine in April of this year. While we are still training and know we will always be working with Mack, we have seen a great transformation in the behaviors of our buddy. From the initial evaluation, we knew that we could entrust our furry family member to Nick and enrolled McKinley in the 4 week Board and Train program. We could not have been more pleased with the results. Since then we have participated in individual and group training sessions. We have had a great experience with Activated Canine. I was a bit worried having our Mastiff gone for four weeks in the board and training program because she isn’t just a dog, she’s a member of our family. My 6 month old puppy stayed with Nick for board and train while I was on vacation. Since her stay, she’s been so well behaved on walks and at home. Not only is she very obedient and wanting to please, she has also gained a lot of confidence!! She was pretty shy and slightly skittish prior to training with him and now she is more open to meeting people and comfortable while we’re out and about. It seems like this increase in confidence is also helping her to show her goofy puppy personality, which is great! Nick has been so awesome in helping us with our goldendoodle. She has a very out going personality and absolutely loves people, but she loves to jump on people and loves to run around when it’s time to go to bed. We enrolled in his private sessions and she has taken tremendous leaps in her training. She is so much more obedient and comes to us when give her commands. We can be walking our dog and on command she will sit, or wait, and go down when given the command. But Nick overall has been so patient and helpful in even training my wife and I in properly training. After our first session I was having a hard time with our dog doing what he had taught us, so I gave Nick a call and he was over at our house in just a few minutes and helped me out and ever since then Olive has done such an incredible job with her training. My husband and I couldn't be more thankful for Nicks services. Before nick, I had an unruly dog who didn't listen to anyone and did whatever he wanted. Now, things are totally different. My 12 month old German Shepherd is like a brand new dog. I honestly never thought my dog could be trained to be this well behaved, but I was proven wrong. We did the 30 day board and train with our BRT and he came back very fine tuned. If I chose to (which I don’t) I could walk him off leash, so if he did get away from me he would respond and come when called. He took to Nick right away which assured me he was in good care. Nick kept the line of communication with us throughout the training, and the follow up session have been reassuring to us. He makes the learning process for us very simple and thorough. I have searched high and low for a quality trainer for my 2 year old German Shepard who was already pretty set in his ways. We came to Nick with our Rottweiler "puppy" and Shepherd mix that could not stay together without fighting. Activated Canine helped train us just as much as the dogs, and with his help and guidance our dogs have become incredibly more obedient as a result. I called Activated Canine because I needs some help with my American Bull dog. He was digging in the trash, stealing food from the dinner table and pulled like a train on a leash. Nick came out to my house assessed my dog and give me clear instructions on why Smoke was miss behaving. Our experience with Nick was great. He is very professional and knowledgeable. Our 7 months old labradoodle puppy Danny took a 3 weeks of boarding and training course. If you are looking for an excellent dog trainer, Nick is your guy! My 5 month old German Shepherd Jameson would constantly bark and try to attack anything that would get in his way, jump on guests when they arrive at my house, dig holes, and simply not listen to commands. Nick has worked miracles with Charlie and his humans!  Our first session, Charlie was lunging at Nick and his dog.  He was so reactive and I held back tears!  On our fifth session, we took him to a very busy park, filled with dogs and people.  He was a dream!  He walked past other dogs, bikes, screaming children, etc. like it was nothing! We highly recommend Nick! We had leash aggression issues with our Rottweiler for years and couldn't even pass another dog without him going berserk. We had worked with other trainers and took classes but nothing seemed to work (so frustrating and defeating). I decided to try one more trainer and after a lot of research, decided on Nick. I felt that he really listened to our problem and understood where we were at in our current training and obedience. After just 5- 1x1 classes with Nick and his awesome dog, Paco (who is extremely well trained), we have seen so much improvement.
