I own and operate a small home improvement company. I am a driven individual and knew that I was going to reach my personal and business goals out of shear determination.
What I also knew was that there are plenty of obstacles, pit falls, and other things that would slow my pace. I was tired of the "1 step forward 2 steps back" trial and error method that was my business. I was searching for a mentor that could help me be better.
I stumbled upon a LinkedIn post by Steve Chiama that discussed 3 questions about better marketing strategies which hit a nerve since marketing is such a large portion of my budget. During an initial lunch meet up with Steve we discussed several aspects of who I was, where my business was, and my near term goals. We talked about his history and some of the basics of the Action Coach model. Everything Steve said really grabbed my attention because it made sense. I felt that I could learn to be better with his tools and guidance.
I decided to make an investment in myself as an owner and hired Steve to be my coach. I am soooooo happy that we met. Steve has helped me focus on defining the company structure and vision. We looked at the financials together and found where things were working and where we needed to tweak. He has helped me understand myself and my true role as a business owner.
At times it is a frustrating experience, but when the breakthroughs happen it's amazing! Today my business is more than healthy. I feel more in control and I am confidently adding new team members into my profitable business.
As with anything the results you get are a direct result of the effort you put in. If you are seriously sick of treading water as a business owner and have the fortitude to listen, learn, and implement needed changes, then I highly recommend Steve and the Action Coach team.
Invest in yourself you won't regret it.

Our company had grown quite a bit and we didn't know what direction to take. My husband and co-owner and I met with Steve and decided to utilize his services to help us plan for our future. He focused not just on the business but also on what "we as a married couple" wanted. We made some immediate decisions and started putting in some procedures that produced immediate results. We also attended one of his quarterly planning sessions which was very valuable. We kept the coaching going for 6 months and then decided to step back, only because we had so much still to do, and due to so many changes, implementing the plan needed some time. We are still changing, going through challenges, but when I have a problem now I think "What did Steve say" and I know how to handle it. Even though we are not utilizing his services at this time, he does keep in touch, which I think is quite admirable. We hope that once we are ready to move to the next level, we can go back and let him direct us to the our next step.
