OVER CHARGED!! TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE PRICE!! Had an appointment for a blow out, & on their website it states the price is $35+ I have longer hair thought there could be an additional $10 charge. When paying, I was charged $62. I was outraged! I asked why and was told because of all the extra work my stylist had to do. Maria my stylist, although very nice, did not seem to know how to do a blowout hair using numerous round brushes. Due to this fact, she needed to use a curling iron to finish styling my hair. I was in the salon for less than 35 minutes. I went to the salon with my hair washed and wet. I will never go to the salon again, and I will make sure to tell all my friends and family in the Riverdale area of my experience. More...

I cannot recommend this place highly enough - they are all wonderful at this salon. I have had my hair colored by Yetta twice, and I have been so happy each time. She is a true artist. The first time, I asked for something that would grow out well, something natural but still an upgrade from what I had, and she gave me the perfect look that, one year later, still looked natural as it grew out. The second time, I went for something bolder, and I also love it. I'm so happy with both times I got cuts and color. Everyone who works there is so friendly and warm, which I have not found to be the case at every salon. Both times, also, I noticed the clientele who come in are also friendly. If you need a place near upper Manhattan or the Bronx, I highly recommend A Touch of Sun for a great experience. You will leave with beautiful, soft, stunning hair. More...

My friend needed to get a blowout for an upcoming event. I recommended this place to her (after reading all the positive reviews online) since she wasn't familiar with the area. It was our first time visiting the salon which was updated and clean. The receptionist greeted us upon arrival and offered us a beverage when we got situated. My friend was satisfied with the overall look but wanted her ends to be curled with the brush. There was a $10 additional charge for this styling bringing the total to $45. Also, there was a $1.50 surcharge for using her credit card. To sum it all up, my friend had a pleasant experience with the hair stylist and was pleased with the end result.
