By far THE best salon to get your hair done in Brooklyn, let alone Bay Ridge. The entire staff makes you feel like family, and are so accommodating. I’ve only had Adam do my hair, and I don’t think I’ll ever let anyone touch my hair again. He seriously works magic!! One of my favorite things about this place (besides everything) is that they take amazing photos at the end and post them. I’m *patiently* waiting for the photos they took today! I've been here 3 or 4 times for a cut and style. The salon is fresh and modern, the people are friendly, and Shadi whom cuts my hair is a fantastic stylist. Very professional and artistic.

I got a regular hair cut and blow dry done by Leila! She was great and knew what she was doing- told me steps she was adding to make my hair cut more full and how to how it would suit me. First time here and a long appointment it was.  Had several things done such as touch up, highlights, cut blow and special serum  treatment.   Although I sat there for 3 1/2 hours I felt comfortable .  Super friendly  staff Consistently offering something to drink or just checking in on you and cinversating.  Makes a difference when its your first time there but made to make you feel like you have coming to then for years.  Super happy with colir and cut. Sam did an awesome job on my hair color. I asked her for a pretty drastic brighter blonde and she matched the photo I showed her. 9 times out of 10 this never happens. I'd like to begin this review by saying I have a very difficult personality when it comes to my hair ( as I'm sure most of us do) I had bleached my hair elsewhere prior to coming to this salon and let me tell you they were WONDERFUL. They showed how much they cared about my hair instead of the cost and gave me multiple options, as well as listening to every concern I had (and trust me there were plenty). They transformed my hair to look great and feel healthy again. I don't think I'll ever be going anywhere else! It's so difficult to find places where you actually feel like you can't trust a business - and that's what everyone should be looking for when it comes to their hair. I have been getting my hair done with Sam for a few years now and she always makes me feel great on the way out. My hair is very dry and brittle but she does an excellent job with the keratin and it lasts for about 6 months and feels smooth and silky.              Everyone in the salon makes you feel very welcome and at home. I appreciate the availability of appointments here; I was able to see Sam the very next day after I called to make my appointment. Sam would get 5 stars, but the only reason I give the salon 4 stars is because it was not immediately clear to me that a "haircut" at this particular salon does not include a wash and a blow-dry.  This is the first salon I have been to that makes a distinction between "haircut" and "haircut and blow dry"; at every other salon I have visited in the past, getting your hair washed, cut, and dried is all included in a "haircut" appointment. But at A'La Mode, you need to specify if you want your hair washed and dried, otherwise it will be cut dry. Having not known this prior, I made an appointment for a "haircut" and was really surprised to find out my hair was being cut dry (I never had a dry cut before, so I was scared it was going to be crooked). This is not Sam's fault, but I do wish the salon made it very clear to customers that haircut means dry cut. Nonetheless, Sam did an excellent job cutting my hair; I really appreciated that she checked the length of my layers as she cut them to make sure they were even on both sides of my head. This salon is literally amazing. I came in with a friend and she had an appointment but I didn't and they still took me . Although I do recommend you to make an appointment if you want a certain person to do your hair . Sam was the one who did my hair . I got olaplex, toner and a haircut and she's AMAZING. She's so nice and super friendly. She literally made me feel so comfortable with getting my hair done and answered any questions I asked. I had a really good time with her. She gave me tips and tricks on how to style my hair / how to maintain my hair color. A lot of Salons really won't tell you how to maintain your hair just so they can get you to come back. I was surprised that this salon had an olaplex treatment which I've never heard of before at a salon. Olaplex helps with damaged hair . This salon uses olaplex with everything!! Especially when you're coloring your hair they will infuse it with olaplex so your hair is healthy and good. I definitely can't wait to come back !! More...

I'm writing this review while my mind is fresh and happy. After checking out all the nice yelp reviews, I decided to check out this place for the first time. I was gonna get a balayage and a hair cut. I picked Sam after seeing all her lovely reviews here. And boy, she didn't disappoint. She listened to all my requirements and concerne and made sure I was happy with my hair cut and the hair color. Sam is such a sweetheart. She was warm and friendly and knew what she was doing when it comes to hair styling and coloring. I was there was 3 hours and I'm so happy with my hair color. And I even got my eyebrows done with Noreen, who btw does a very thorough eyebrow threading job and she's very good at it. It was painless and she did an excellent job. I wasn't even planning to get my eyebrows done here but I'm glad I did. I wish she was close though because I hate taking the R train all the way to bayridge. The only thing I'm sad about was the tipping. They only allow cash tipping here and I wish I brought more cash. And I needed the cash to pick up my dry cleaning. I didnt plan to get my eyebrows done and Noreen takes cash only hence I could tip Sam only 15% since I ran out of cash (embarrassing). Sam did an awesome job and deserves the 20% tip. I found this place years ago and it became my only spot for keratin. They just know what they're doing and the treatment is always the best I've ever had. Now that I've moved from the city, I still drive 2 hours to get my hair done because they are that good. Also, I appreciate that I see the same stylists year after year - not only my stylist but most of the people who work there so I get the sense that it's a good place to work and I appreciate supporting that, too. I moved to Brooklyn from Jersey a few years ago but had still been going to my stylist across the bridge. When she went on maternity leave ahead of my wedding, I felt lost (I am melodramatic). A great first experience! I was lucky enough to get a last minute accommodation for a cut and style with one of the owners (Adam), on a Saturday. Not surprised to have arrived to a packed salon! Everyone is extremely kind and welcoming and not in an overbearing or phony way. There is tea, coffee, water and even wine upon arrival, which is always a nice touch when enjoying some primping at a nice salon. I've spent double or more in the past on cuts and have not been any happier with the end result than I was today. In fact, this may be one of the rare times I have truly felt listened to about what I did and did not want in my cut and left 100% happy. There are so many salons in the NYC area, it can be overwhelming to find a good one.
