I love the food here! Healthy and international...a great place to eat while out thrifting. It is in the same plaza as Gift 'n Thrift - the area's best thrift store. It is also joined to Merge Coffee, which is a great spot for some of the best hand-crafted coffees around. More...

Came for the berry special salad. It was packed with fruit. Dressing was great. Hubs not fan of fruit in salads, got a sandwich and chic pea salad. Need to come more often!

After touring the James Madison University, I stopped by this place with a friend and the food was absolutely delicious. The options are great and you can try foods that you usually wouldn't get to eat. I'm not one to eat vegan foods, but this is the exception. From bowls to brownies, you can check off a box of healthy foods eaten for the day and feel wonderful. Not feeling vegan, they have other foods that you can eat. I got the Tom Kha Gai Bowl and got to try bamboo shoots for the first time! The service is better than any chik-fil-a you'll ever visit! If you don't know what something is going to tase like, you can sample it, or ask one of the kind workers to help you decide. Emily Kauffman and Allie were so kind and truly made us feel at home. I really enjoy bowl of good's Bangkok bowl! I get the bowl with tofu and quinoa instead of chicken and rice. It's simply a delicious, vegan summer delight! The service is always friendly and the food is always fresh. It's a fair price and it's also very healthy. If you struggle to find delectable veggie options in Harrisonburg, this is the place to go. Highly recommend the Bangkok bowl. More...

Their food is really good but they've had a few minor fails. The first time I ordered from them I had their "red white and moo bowl" there was hardly any meat in the bowl although it says beef chili in the description. Then I had the greek bowl and they didn't even bother telling me they were out of dolmas when I ordered it. (I assume there are maybe only two dolmas but still if it adds up to $10 for a bowl they should tell customers when they run out of ingredients) Slightly disappointed about that. More...

After my college visit at EMU this was the perfect healthy option before brusters! All ingredients are locally grown to make international dishes. I got the tom kha gai soup which had mushrooms and bamboo shoots. It tasted very interesting, but good! My aunt opted for the nachos and she raved about them! The workers were very knowledgeable and friendly. If I become a student at EMU I will definitely go back :) More...

Amazing food of the best quality prepared flavorfully, & served in a stylish way! This was the most nourishing, delicious food I have ever had at a workshop The staff was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, & super friendly. I'm a classically trained chef, so I tend to pack my own food in the event of inedible, unhealthy conference food with no nutritional value...boy, was I pleasantly surprised! What made me even happier was to find that they source locally & sustainably when possible & can accommodate almost any dietary need. I attended a two day workshop at Blue Ridge Community College hosted by Virginia Cooperative Extension catered by A Bowl of Good...and wish it had been a five day workshop! More...

This is simply one of the best places to eat in the Valley. It is pure, honest, wholesome, fresh, natural, authentic, and delicious. The food is cooked from scratch, which in this chain-restaurant world, where most "independent" restaurant simply heat up stuff from Sysco or US Food Service, is a rare find. What is not to love about this place. Good food easy ordering system. They have a good variety of menu items and they care about the world I was totally distracted by the wonderful fair trade shop next door which OPENS right inside the cafeMy only negative is I asked for a gluten free cookie and was given a regular cookie. We've meant to eat eat for several years but always seemed to go somewhere else when we went through Harrisonburg. No more of that nonsense. This review is based on just the one lunchtime visit.i had the Maharaja bowl (delicious lentils), my husband had the Bowl de la Milpa (black beans) and my daughter enjoyed the Saigon gyro. We also had some cookies (one gluten free one) and a side of the chick pea salad. I liked mine the best but any family foibles there's. Oh, and the coffee was fantastic! Â The service was friendly and prompt. We look forward to many repeat visits. More...
