Really good breakfast, even for me who's not a big breakfast person. Our friends took us here because this has been their favorite breakfast spot for years. My kids both got the kids waffle with vanilla cream and bacon. My husband got the waffle and vanilla cream, with scrambled eggs and bacon. I got the lamb sandwich with pasta salad and potato salad. The lunch wasn't bad, but honestly nothing compared to he breakfast. The bacon was nice and thick. The eggs were fluffy. The waffle was really flavorful on its own and just super great with the vanilla cream. They had a cool selection of other flavor creams like espresso! The corned beef hash and french toast also sounded great. They had different kinds of flavored teas and fresh pastries in the front. The decor was cute with tapestries and knick knacks. This was a return visit for us, and it was just as wonderful as the earlier ones. Food was well prepared, served promptly, and was delicious. We shared a made-to-order omelette worth green chiles, onions, and sausage. It comes with 2 liege waffles, and we selected the blackberry cream to go with it. For drinks, we had pomegranate mimosas (following the server's recommendation). Those were also tasty.The place was very crowded, but we were seated promptlyand not rushed to finish quickly so others could sit. Service, as always, was friendly and professional. It was about an hour wait for a group of 7. The hostess wasn't sure about accommodating that many but added our name anyway. So I suggest making a reservation before you head there because they get seated right away. But once we got seated the service was awesome and the food was so tasty-I completely forgot about the wait. "The wait is worth it!" Belgium waffles were sooo delicious with the assortment of cremes, especially the holiday peppermint or eggnog. This is my wife and I's favorite breakfast place in the area. Â We live in El Paso and routinely make the drive to Las cruces to get their corn beef hash. Â While not a belgian meal, the combination of eggs, potatoes, and corn beef is great! Â It goes great with a side of their famous Belgian waffles with belgian cream. Â I can't over state how good their food is. Â The only thing I can think of criticizing this place on is that the restaurant itself seems a little tight and doesn't offer the most private setting for conversations and or an intimate meal. This is my go to brunch spot in Las Cruces. The food is delicious, there are so many different flavors of mimosas, and the prices are great. We've gone a few times and we did have to wait a few minutes, but the hostess was beyond sweet and I've had some great conversations with her. This was a nice change up from the typical options in Las Cruces. The dining area is set up very nicely and is very clean. Our server, actually the whole staff, was knowledgeable of the menu, made great recommendations, and were extremely polite and attentive. My son ordered the quiche of the day, my wife had the breakfast brioche, and I had the breakfast special. The breakfast quiche was fantastic, very flavorful, and a huge portion. The breakfast brioche was pretty good, also a very large portion, but wasn't as good as we hoped it would be. The breakfast special had 2 eggs, bacon, and 2 waffles. More and more I am pleased with the growing options you find in town. It's great to see that the people of Las Cruces are expanding their tastes beyond Mexican food. A Bite if Belgium definitely provides a satisfactory decadent alternative. When you walk in the atmosphere almost resembles a diner. Going there for breakfast that was okay, but seemed strange to me. My family and I have only ever been to Ghent and Brussels. It wouldn't be fair to say it was weird. It is welcoming, it just isn't what we remember of Belgium when we were there. Where the restaurant really takes ahold of you is when you are taken back to your table. Bite of Belgium did a really great job with the decor and ambiance. Tables are scattered euro style, which makes the place feel more communal instead of regimented in most hurry up and eat restaurants. They have very welcomed natural light coming through the skylights. I have to give high praise for the layout of the restaurant. Our server was really good. Very mild mannered and polite. You could tell he takes what he is doing seriously. He was thoughtful as he addressed you and would make changes on the fly if he recognized that maybe he shouldn't reach across in front of a customer. It was because of our server that the restaurant started to feel like a more refined eatery in Las Cruces. You almost forgot you were wearing spurs with a spittoon by your side, and ol' Bessy lassoed out front. We definitely appreciated our server. The food was good. It certainly wasn't as rich as most Belgian food we have had. Obviously, Belgium has a lot of French inspired flavors, so it can be rich. Flavor explosions in the mouth are not for everyone, but for my family it is. Unfortunately, my waffle was disappointing. Europeans tend to enjoy packaged breads. In an odd way the waffle had the texture and flavor of a packaged waffle. Kind of the same had you gotten a waffle from a Starbucks. The flavor isn't bad, it's just not what you hoped for. The restaurant clearly prides itself in its creams. Many of the items on the menu have choices of cream and they are delicious. I would be surprised even if you aren't particular to cream that you wouldn't like how they make it. The cream is quite good and worth saving if you don't finish it. My son had an omelette. My daughters corned beef hash. My wife had a southwestern plate. They all seemed to enjoy it. I tasted my sons omelette and agreed that the eggs had a great flavor. My only issue really, and what stole from the experience is that it is a bit pricey and for what you are getting doesn't quite match up. For us at least, and maybe we are a bunch of wild hooligans, so take my comments lightly. Visually, the food was 5-stars. Rounding out the families rating in taste we give it a 4. More...
