Anita coordinated my daughter's Monterey wedding with flawless expertise. She handled every single detail with perfection, taking care of issues we didn't even know existed. My daughter's wedding was absolutely perfect, and we were able to relax and enjoy the entire experience because Anita took care of everything so well. She is super detail oriented and on top of things, but at the same time she's calm and positive. Most wedding planners in Monterey/Carmel seem to prefer working with couples having super pricey weddings in Carmel Valley, where the venue does a lot of the work for you. If you're on a budget but still want a very special wedding, Anita is your person. I talked with more than a dozen planners and Anita stood out as the most committed, energetic, reliable and knowledgeable person, and the easiest to work with. And she's way more reasonably priced than most of the others. Anita was simply amazing and helped to make our big day perfect!

We had heard horror stories from friends who spent their entire wedding chasing down details and trying to keep things on schedule. Anita handled it all. Every detail and extra touches were taken care of so we didn't have to worry about a thing, other than having the time of our lives! Anita also was very kind and helpful to all of our friends and family.

Anita was absolutely awesome to work with! She saved my wedding by coming on board with only weeks remaining until my wedding and she was a total pro! We initially started working with another planner who wasn’t doing anything and seemed really lackluster. She was also planning her own wedding, but I took a risk because she was used to working at the venue where I had my reception (big mistake). Three weeks until the wedding we had no banquet order, no structure and no service from our planner. When we emailed her it would literally take a week or more to hear back for simple questions. It was awful, so awful. My fiancé who is the most easy going guy said he couldn’t handle the previous planner and neither could I, she was ruining our day before it started. We fired her so she could go off and plan her own wedding. We took a risk that our dream planner would materialize.

Enter Anita, she was so organized and excited, a true professional who enjoys what she does. She always has a smile on her face and does a great job and staying focused and organized. I had no doubt things would be beautiful. She listens and plans the wedding as if it were her own family getting married. My only wish is that I had her from the very beginning, but thank goodness we found her regardless. Since my wedding was in November a couple of other planners were available, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with Anita, just trust me she’s going to make your day shine :). Answer her questions and giver her everything you want to see on the day off, she listens..guest books, special toasts etc. don’t assume that she reads minds or that anything is standard because all weddings are different and she will make it happen. Her husband is a really cool guy as well.

Working with A STARR Events was truly one of the best decisions I made throughout my entire wedding planning process. Anita made it easy from the very beginning and really helped me navigate through my visions for the day and help make them a reality. She put my wants and needs first but also helped to lead me with her experience and expertise. She provided me with checklists and checked-in with me to help keep me on track and feel relaxed. I could feel her years of experience when I would call her overwhelmed and she would just walk me through it step-by-step until I was clear on what needed to be done and she would help me do it. A Starr Event created the flower arrangements, bouquets and boutonnieres for my daughters’ spring wedding. Anita responded quickly to my inquiry, worked with us to select the various elements we wanted, and provided a reasonable quote that fit our budget. Anita spent a lot of time reviewing our selections, discussing flower choices that fit our color scheme, and she proved very knowledgeable about what would be available (and affordable) for my daughter’s special day! What a pleasure it was to work with Anita for both wedding planning/coordination and flowers! We were planning from the East Coast, and Anita’s experience, work ethic, attention to detail, and artistic eye were invaluable during the planning process and on wedding day. Though we were initially one of those couples not hiring a wedding planner to save money, we quickly realized that Anita would be paying for herself with her connections, resources and great ideas. Because she had never done a wedding at our venue in San Francisco, she visited the site twice in the span of a couple of months when we couldn’t be there, a testament to her dedication and research. Best decision we ever made! Hands down – no questions. ASTARR Events is absolutely amazing. Words cannot describe how perfect our wedding day was and it was the creative, organized, experienced and reliable services from Anita and her team. For months leading up to the wedding we would throw ideas and boxes of decorations at her and she rolled with it. She combined our cluttered ideas with her organized experience and created the most beautiful event ever. The day of our wedding after the ceremony was complete and the anxious nervousness was gone, as we sat at our sweetheart table looking out towards our guests in this gorgeous garden - we saw MAGIC. On this special and once in a lifetime day, As a bride and also as a groom, you need to have someone who will take care of every important detail of this special day. It is a very fun and exciting day, however, it is very easy to forget so many important details because it is also stressful and overwhelming. ASTARR events will not disappoint you. I have so many details I needed and wanted in our wedding and ASTARR understood everything I wanted. They delivered in a way that words cannot express. As the day was approaching, I kept remembering little things that I had forgotten and they made everything possible, and the best part, is that I did not have to worry about a single thing. I was never the girl that fantasized about her perfect wedding so when that moment arrived, I thought, “Hey, this will be easy, I can plan this! ” Until this day, my one HUGE REGRET was not having Anita coordinate my wedding.

However, I did have the pleasure of having Anita as my wedding florist. I had no concept of flowers but shared my vision of table center pieces with ceramic tea pots and cups filled with wild flowers, whimsical flowy vines wrapped around gazebo arches, bridesmaids holding baby breath wrapped in lace and burlap, and a bridal bouquet with vines streaming through. My, Oh, My! Anita was truly a floral alchemist because she took my vision and created the most enchanted, elegant, romantic, gorgeous bohemian inspired bouquets/arrangements that made my heart flutter; she went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much Anita!!

Prior to the big day, Anita found out I was without a wedding coordinator, she offered her assistance and I politely declined due to my ignorance. Well, on the day of, that’s when I realized there was no way in hell I could run the show, have hair and makeup done, and maintain agenda. Thankfully, the wedding had an amazing turnout but not without a lot of stress. Regrettably, I should have taken advantage of Anita’s highly recommended expertise.

Working with Anita was fantastic! She was my coordinator for my beach wedding, and it was truly perfect. I did a lot of the large-scale planning myself, and she handled the most important parts of the execution. She was reassuring every step of the way and always quick with a vendor recommendation or a suggestion for how to make something work that posed a logistical hurdle. She was so easy to work with because she was hands-off about those aspects of the wedding I wanted to handle and did a wonderful job executing my (admittedly specific) vision for the day when it came to the parts she handled. I should mention that I was planning the wedding remotely, and I don't think I could have pulled it off without having someone local whom I trusted to address issues as they arose. She ran the wedding the day of without a single problem. Everything went smoothly, and all the guests had a wonderful time. Anita and her crew set up the beach as well as the reception in exactly the way we'd discussed, and it looked amazing. Anita also helped deal with a difficult reception site coordinator and generally made the entire wedding planning process a joy. Anita also did all the floral arrangements, and they were fabulous. She found the flowers I wanted, added stems that matched my vague description, and set everything up. Finally, I had the opportunity to see Anita setting up for a wedding much larger and more formal than mine a few months before my date. I was blown away by the beauty of the setup and her attention to detail. I truly believe that you cannot go wrong choosing Anita for your event, no matter its size or level of difficulty. From the first phone call until the last moment of my wedding day, I was confident that Anita understood my vision and that everything would go smoothly. I had some unfortunate encounters with my wedding venue and Anita was there every step of the way to offer advice and also to ensure that the day of would go off without a hitch, despite any problems with the venue itself. We retained Anita to be our wedding planner and could have not picked a better one! She was incredibly thorough, punctual, professional, calm, she was on top of issues almost before they happened, and most importantly, she has integrity. She did exactly what she said she would do for us on our wedding day.
At one point probably 1 hour before the start of our ceremony, it was recognized that the venue did not provide enough dinner plates, glasses, and silverware as was written in the contract we had earlier negotiated. Anita did not miss a beat, she was on the phone and had everything rented and delivered within the hour. She also assisted us with discussing the discrepancy with the venue and we were reimbursed for the price of the rental dinnerware.

We hired Anita after researching other wedding planners in the area. She was the most affordable that we could find in the Monterey area and we enjoyed talking to her. We used her for day of coordination and paid by the hour. There were a few communication issues, but maybe that was my fault for not communicating enough with her (example: the glow sticks were set out too early, pin on corsages instead of wrist ones, and contacting vendors without letting me know). Overall, our wedding went well with very little things that went wrong. She did an awesome job with the flowers. People still tell me how lovely the centerpieces were. At the last minute, we decided to hire Anita for day of coordination for our wedding ceremony in Monterey, Ca. My husband and I did the majority of the coordinating and planning with wedding vendors prior to the big day, but when it came down to it, we realized that we would need someone to orchestrate all of the details while we were busy getting married!

Thank goodness Anita was available! She responded immediately to our emails and we set up a time to meet in our wedding ceremony location. She was very sweet, flexible, professional and not to mention in our budget! ASTARR Events offers wedding packages as well as a la carte services. Knowing that we had already done the bulk of the work, Anita stepped in gracefully and helped us to smooth out the details and create our vision.

Anita has a lot of experience and is well connected with the wedding vendor community. She also gave us several suggestions for our wedding ceremony that we didn't even think about! We also later found out that Anita handled a last minute emergency before the wedding ceremony on our wedding day. The last thing any bride & groom need on their wedding day is added stress, and we are so happy that Anita was there to handle the situation while also ensuring that we were both calm and happy!

We retained Anita as our Day of the Event Planner for our son's wedding which was held at Hidden Valley Music Seminars in Carmel Valley. However, we found her services to be necessary prior to the wedding day as well. Her vision and expertise was invaluable as she helped us see things that we would have otherwise missed. She also provided us with additional personnel, where needed, such as babysitters and dishwashers to hand wash our vintage dishes.

On the day of the wedding, she ensured that every detail was covered and every activity on the day's agenda happened as planned. If there were any glitches, we didn't know about them.

Anita is such a wonderful, attentive, knowledgeable, and dedicated event planner. She did my wedding, one of the most important days of my life.
