My name is Mitchell Gasiorowski. My experience with the Wrap Firm had to be the most horrible experience with a business for someone who loves their car. My car is a 2021 Dodge Scat Pack Challenger which I bought new in June 2021. I wanted to put some personal touches on my car – I wanted something people would notice and could catch their attention. For me, that was adding racing stripes. I did some research on the internet and found the Wrap Firm. What a website, I thought. I felt like they must do great work and stand behind their product based on their website. I therefore brought my car in and spoke with Nicholas Pearl, the owner. People, please beware – if you love your car, do not bring it to the Wrap Firm. They will cause significant damage and then ultimately try to deny responsibility. When I first had the stripes installed in 2021 I had to take my car back because the stripes were not even close to symmetrical. They were definitely off and did not match. Mr. Pearl said that he would fix the problem. When I got my car back the stripes were thin in spots and there were bubbles in the wrap and one of the ends looked like they were pealing, but it was a new car and I wanted to drive it so I left the stripes the way they were. This summer I decided that I wanted to remove the stripes and this is when the real trouble started. My thought was, what better place to have them removed than the place that put them on, so I returned to the Wrap Firm. After the stripes were removed, it uncovered scratches that they made when they initially installed the stripes. It looked like whoever put the stripes on used a sharp object to cut the stripes straight. Very noticeable scratch lines all over every panel that the stripes covered. To get the stripes removed I had to drop my car off and I was told it would take a few hours. When I did not hear back from the Wrap Firm later in the day I called and they said that I would have to leave it overnight because they wanted to buff it up. It did not even occur to me that something was wrong. I thought that they wanted to get it looking nice, especially given the issues that I had with the install. When I went to pick my car up the next day one of the vents was missing from my hood. This should have been my first indication that this was not going to go well. We had to search for the vent and eventually found it. With all of the commotion of the missing vent and the time looking for it, I was shown quickly around the car. I did notice some film on the car so I decided to take it home and wash it. After I washed my car I started to look more closely where the stripes used to be. I saw scratches as long as the roof all over almost every panel of the car where the wrap had been placed. It was clear that they scratched my car during the install . I called and spoke with the wrap firm and explained the situation. They told me to bring the car in and he would buff it again. I was going out of town for the weekend so I dropped the car off before I left. When I returned, I continued to wait for someone to call me about the car. After a few more days I called to check on the car and an associate of Mr. Pearl said that they were just getting around to looking at it. A week went by and they had done nothing and were just going to start buffing when I called. Wow – I was shocked and upset. Another week went by and I again called the Wrap Firm and was told that my car was ready. When I pulled up, the car was outside of the business. This time I started to look at the car more thoroughly. I could still see that we all of the scratches were still there! Mr. Pearl tried to give me the car back like it was, as if all the scratches were gone. When I pointed out that the scratches were still there, he said he would keep the car to continue to work on it. I told him that since they had not done anything to fix it I was going to take it to a collision shop that I trusted (Ventura’s Car Star) to see what they said. Mr. Pearl agreed at that time and I went to Ventura’s and received an estimate for the damage. After I received the estimate from Ventura’s I emailed Mr. Pearl. Mr. Pearl responded by saying in his “fine print” (mind you I was never given anything in writing) he indicated that he only uses his preferred body shop to fix the damage that his business causes to vehicles. His preferred shop was Gabe’s Collision. I said fine, I will take it to Gabe’s and made an appointment. The estimate from Gabe’s was $8900. I waited a few days but I was getting the run around. I emailed Mr pearl and he responded with telling me he is really busy and would need a week to look at estimate from gabes and will get back to me. After a week or so went by I emailed Mr pearl again. I told him that this is unfortunate situation and made him a settlement offer that would not make him pay full amount. I then received a response back from Mr Pearl that said he would give me 2000$ towards the car or would wrap my car for free. With that response brought me such disappointment in the wrap firm. I didn’t understand his response. Their is 8900$ of damage that his collision shop said my car needed. What was 2000$ gonna do. I should have to pay the remainder for something his company did to my car or a free wrap on my car to cover it up. Both options presented to me by Mr Pearl I found absurd and now I know what kind of integrity this owner has. Attempting to repair the damage his company caused twice, and insisting I get an estimate from his preferred repair shop, he suddenly began to imply that he was not responsible, which is unprofessional, a poor business practice and downright illegal. I responded and said that $2000 would not even cover a fraction of the damage and indicated that he needed to put in a claim with his business liability insurance to pay for the damage, requested his insurance carrier’s information, and never heard from him again. Now I am forced to take him to court over this. This is a warning to stay away from this place. They dazzle you with the website but they will damage your car, try to repair the damage and when they cannot, say they are not responsible for it and make you pay for it. More...
