Decided to check this place out. Ordered the Sampler. It has brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Chicken was super moist, typically dries out badly. The pulled pork was shredded and so moist you wouldn't believe it. Really mild smoke flavor to it. The brisket had a great bark with salt and pepper to it but was a little on the dry side. Mac n cheese was of the baked variety and had a ton of cheese with it. Delicious. Also had the corn and potato casserole. First time ever hearing of this dish. It had the corn and potato and a little cheese it. Quite tasty. The baked beans were made with a fair amount of brown sugar in them. They were quite hearty and we're very filling. The waitress's were off the charts. There were 3 of them and each one checked on me numerous times. Super stuff. The place is in an old style diner that definitely gives you a small town vibe (original Frisch's Diner). They have been there since 2012. I for sure will have to return. More...

Server- Jared, fantastic service with all the helpful suggestions you could ask of him! Meals ordered- Big South, The Mad Dog. Both meals were large portions of the most incredibly delicious food! For the amount of food, the prices are very fair! Sweet tea was fresh and perfectly sweet. Location is clean and cozy. (Bathroom is COLD, likely due to its location in the building.) The only thing we were missing was wet wipes for the sticky fingers. Also, we were impressed with how quick the service is and the friendliness of the staff!! Unfortunately, there’s not a second location in southern Illinois for us to stop often! Parking lot was sufficient for us to pull in bobtail. This family run restaurant as such accommodating and genuinely nice, friendly staff to back up the amazing quality of their barbecue meats. Like every other BBQ joint I have ever encountered, the sauces are nothing to write home about, but the wonderful meet doesn't really need it and their sauces are just fine oh, just not outstanding. Great food and service. We ordered the Destroyer and it was awesome! For about $9 (plus $1.99 for fries) we received a massive sandwich, which consists of a large amount of melt in your mouth brisket, cheese (pepper jack cheese is pictured), hand made onion rings, and jalipenio's (we removed). This "'sandwich" is a meal by itself! Our server, Nikki, was friendly and personable. She is a gem! Also, the sweet tea is truly sweet and no additional sweetener is needed. This is a gem in southeast Ohio that is a must if you're in the area! Located on the south part of town across the Scioto River, this small diner has some rocking BBQ! They also serve breakfast which I have yet to check out. I ordered a quick takeout so I could watch football on Saturday during lunch, and it wasn't too busy when I came to pick up my food -- my guess is that the OSU was playing at noon. The restaurant was clean and the crew behind the counter was super friendly! I ordered the Big South (feeds 2-3): - Briskets (5/5): oh so juicy, flavorful, and scrumptious! I would just go back for this!- pork (4.5/5): super delicious and had a nice smoky flavor -- goes well with their BBQ sauce. - shredded chicken (2.5/5): eh, wasn't impressed. It had a hint of the smoky flavor but otherwise a bit bland. - 1/2 rack ribs (4/5): yes plz! Def a fan! You can get it dry or wet. I got it wet and def enjoyed it! My slight critique is that I wish the sauce had more of a zing to it than just sweet. It's a personal thing. - 2 sides (I got fried onion rings and sweet potato casserole). Both were solid -- the sweet potato had a nice brown sugar caramelization to it! Overall, I was one satisfied customer. With the portion of the Big South to the price and array of bbq goodness, it's a bargain for some solid bbq! I do wish their BBQ had a bit more spice or zest to it -- or just have an additional new sauce option -- to compliment the ribs and other dishes. I'll be back! More...
