AWESOME. When I first began my search for a video converting service, I was not having any luck finding a good place in the Triangle. When I came across the Home Video Studio in Apex, I was uncertain. The website looks outdated and isn't easy to maneuver, but I found that the service is out of this world. I had 10 mini DV cassettes from the early 2000s, some were damaged and I was unsure what was on each one. But when I picked up my DVDs (a week sooner than expected) I was greeted with a smile and a 'gift bag' ready to go. Thank goodness for Home Video Studio! I originally sent my tapes to legecybox and was quickly disappointed ! They didn't complete the conversions and stated one very important tape of my sons first few weeks was damaged and unrecoverable. I took my tape to Home Video Studio and they were able to get all the tape transferred to DVD! Best Mother's Day gift. I will take all my business to them for now on. More...

During a recent, personal undertaking of transferring several home movie VHS tapes, 9 mm films, slides, and 3.5 inch floppy media to digital format; I ran into the issue of not having the correct devices required. I took to the web and Google searched for small businesses with good ratings for help. Sure the big retailers and drug stores can do the same thing, but the prices I found were about the same and shipping was not required. If I could, I would give this place a million stars. Memories are obviously so important to all of us, but we usually record them on formats that can corrupt over time and let's be honest, sit in the back of a closet for ages. It's been seven years since my dad died and I am in the process of moving. I unearthed nine precious video 8 tapes having no clue what was on them besides some odd labels my dad had scribbled on them. I could only afford to convert 4 right now and it was worth every single penny. One of the tapes dated back to July 1992 when I was 4! I could not believe they were able to get anything off the tape (it's 23 years old!) but what they got (which was a day at the beach) made me happy/sad cry for the entire video. I finally have video footage of me and my dad and can hear his voice!  The DVD quality is GREAT and so straightforward (you pop it into your DVD player and hit play... No crazy menu-submenu-chapter menu to try to get to your memories). I have made it through watching two of the DVDs, am so pumped to watch the other 2 and cannot wait to have the money to do the other 5 tapes.  It is so hard trusting someone with your one copy of your media that holds precious memories, but this place handled everything wonderfully and I cannot recommend them enough!!!!  An extra note, I dropped my items off and was given a day they were supposed to be completed by; this place called me 4 days before my DVDs were supposed to be finished to let me know they were already done! I am satisfied with the end product and the owners are very pleasant with which to work.  We had a miscommunication on how this industry prices the DVD duplication fees but the confusion was easily and quickly rectified within one business day.  In short, DVDs are priced on an individual basis.  For example if your job creates 3 DVDs and you want 3 complete copies you need to ask for 9 copies.  Peter was very nice to work with and I would go back for future jobs. I have done business with Sharon and Peter, on multiple occasions, and have always had great experiences. In particular, I have had them convert very old 8mm film to digital. I will continue to come back to them (even though I need to drive a bit of a distance to their location). I highly recommend that if you are considering turning over your precious memories in the form of film and video tape (and who doesn't worry about that?) for them to convert, you can trust them with your valuable keepsakes.
