I DO NOT RECOMMEND 4 Rivers Bbq on MacDill or any location for that matter, since all of their calls go through a call center. HUGE DISAPPOINENT! Desseves ZERO stars, but I have to give at least 1 star to leave my review. I put in a delivery order on their website at 10:45am. Once the transaction had been completed, it was confirmed the order would be delivered no later than 11:30am. I received a confirmation text at 10:56am with a tracking link and everything. At 11:15am I received a text stating that my order had been modified or canceled and to contact 4 Rivers directly, which I did, only to be told that everything had gone through correctly on their end and the driver from Door Dash (which is who 4 Rivers uses for delivery) is the one who canceled the order and they directed me to call Door Dash. When I called Door Dash (which I shouldn't have had to do because I ordered delivery on 4 Rivers website not on the Door Dash app) they told me the driver was told by 4 Rivers, that they didn't have an order ready and they couldn't find where one had been put in online. This is when the Door Dash driver proceeded to cancel the order. Both Door Dash and 4 Rivers assured me that they were working quickly to get the order together ASAP and it would now be delivered no later than 12:35pm. Against my better judgement, I said OK. At 12:08pm, I received a confirmation text with a tracking link, stating that my order would be delivered by 12:35pm. Then, to my surprise, at 12:20pm, I received a text stating that my order had been modified or canceled. So, I called 4 Rivers to once again be told that it was on Door Dash's side. Come to find out after being put on hold by 4 Rivers, AGAIN, I was told that they were having technical issues and their IT dept. was working to resolve the issue. I ended up having to make other arrangements because I had a crew on a jobsite waiting for their lunch and the customer service (including management) at 4 Rivers could care less. Placed a to-go order. Order was ready 13-15 mins after promised time and was completely thrown together. Brisket was suppose to be lean and got a slab of fat, bland mac and cheese and sweet potatoes FULL OF STRINGS. Disgusting. As if my meal wasnt bad enough my GFs cold smoked turkey and heavy burnt beans were the straw that broke the camels back. Super disappointed, drove around from to-go in the back of the building to side take out window to the employee who brought my food out ignoring me at the window. Establishment was very nice, clean and busy but not overly busy. Received a coupon for free sandwich, of course the brisket had just been pulled out of the smoker and that's the sandwich chosen. The only reason why I gave it 2 stars is because of the cleanliness of the restaurant, sad to say I went there yesterday 3/4/2022 and ordered one of the new bows that they have known on there menu, when I saw the price, I was kind of surprised at the price but I said it's the inflation but does inflation affect price and amount of food? $12.95 +tax for a bowl that would be like a mini bowl compared to Chipotle's bowls and for a Chipotle price of $8.95+tax. This is what they call a "Destroyer" I don't see nothing terrifying in this, no sides or anything and if you want any side to go with your "Destroyer" (being sarcastic) it's extra to the $9.95+tax price tag that's on this so called Destroyer, and after I paid and tipped after leaving I had to go back because when I opened one of the boxes all that was in the Destroyer was bread and brisket, no cheese, jalapeño's and a onion ring and you did see I wrote it in singular 1 onion ring sad and after going thru this ordeal the cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt to which I said yes, she took it and put it on the counter next to my order I thought she had put it in the bag but when I came back to state what had happened she had not put it in the bag and I was being questioned about when I had made the purchase, so I had to point at her and state she did not put it in the bag after not giving it to me, the gentleman that tried to help me did not even do nothing to make me feel better he just added what was missing in the order and bye, That's it, I was not expecting nothing for free but a just for your issue a "can I give anything to mitigate your problem" just the intention would have been good.Very bad experience will not be returning there again. Clean establishment, friendly staff, delicious food, reasonably priced, and great environment.My only complaint is that they should be trained to tell you after you pay how it works -- you take a number and carry all trays to a table and they bring out any items that are missing. We've never been here, so we paid and we're waiting for our order not realizing we were supposed to go and sit and they would bring the rest out. But other than that everything was amazing. Came to four rivers for lunch and got the smoked turkey, macaroni and cheese, bread pudding, coleslaw, and sweet tea. I've never had the smoked turkey here before but I thought it was very good especially with the hot barbecue sauce on the side to dip it in. The signs were also very good with my favorite being the bread pudding. For rivers never seems to disappointment and I always enjoy coming here with friends and family. We even happened to go to a wedding that was catered by four rivers which we quite enjoyed. I will definitely be back and I absolutely love the outdoor seating area here as well! More...
