Kasey and her team really are amazing folks! Barbara took special care to help set up classes for us to attend as well as a private one on one session with Kasey so we could begin working quickly. Our dog is reactive and we are brand new dog owners and Kasey gives us the confidence that we have what it takes to train our dog. She is respectful, kind and uses a sense of humor to keep things positive even when they get sticky! Becky helps support us with one on one directions, examples and videos as well. We have been so thankful for 2SpeakDog and Kasey's expertise and wisdom throughout our new puppy journey. Everyone in our neighborhood recommended them, and we're so glad we tried them out! The techniques are spot on, classes are great, and she's awesome about answering your individual questions and unique problems. I've googled some of her techniques to share them with others bc of how great they work, but quickly realized they're truly her own (I couldn't find them anywhere!). Even gave us great advice outside of class when we were taking our pup on our first road trip to meet our family's animals.  Always quick to reply to emails, and very responsive when we've needed anything. I am really shocked that there was a bad review even submitted on Yelp regarding 2 Speak Dog.  The price of classes are great compared to other facilities in Richmond and you don't have to wait for months to get into a class.  Plus there are tons of workshops and classes to choose from.  I have taken my dog to 3 classes so far and he has improved tremendously.  He would pull on walks, jump on everyone, and could be down right stubborn.  Basic Obedience I and II have really helped me learn how to correct his bad habits.  Not only is my dog better all around I feel more confident and less frustrated while working with him.  Kasey is truly amazing.  She seeks each dog and dog owner out each class and literally teaches you what you should and should not be doing.  You have to be willing to put in the time and effort.  You can't take these classes and not do the homework with you pup.  I feel I have learned so much while attending these classes and I truly don't think you will be disappointed at all. Kasey and all of the staff are wonderful. I got my pup when she was 9 weeks old. As a first time puppy owner, I had no clue what I was doing. I started taking Belle to puppy social class and now she is in basic II. She has done so well because of the training at 2speakdog. When our foster dog Piper came in to our home, we instantly fell in love. However, we knew that we wouldn’t be able to keep Piper unless we could help her with her separation anxiety and insecurities. Kasey and Gabrielle helped us with these things almost instantly. They helped us to create a trusting bond with our dog who we think had never felt trust before. She has learned to respect our space and our decisions because she feels like she can finally relax with us. We still have a long way to go, but we know that 2SpeakDog will help us get there. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. We've done the basic obedience one class, the walking workshop and a private lesson. We've had Amy and Jen as trainers. Amy was awesome in the basic class. Jen came for the private session... it was awesome. She taught us so much about our pup and gave us so many tips and tricks to help make our home life better. I want to give a shoutout to an amazing woman that I met today, Kasey Herrera. Kasey, owner of 2SpeakDog, has the most amazing understanding of dog language. I struggle to put into words the way she understands, communicates and respects Dogs. She has the ability to take a dog, see their issues, earn their trust and respect and make them become an amazing part of life- all without force. What is more is that she can teach an owner/handler. Little does she know, I was close to tears today watching her work with a dog that was 2 steps from being a lost cause. She recognized his fear and respected it and spoke his language to help him start on his path to a better life. If you ever have a need for a trainer, make the drive to see her. She is honest and strait forward. You will be moved at how she understands these creatures. I can't say enough even after the short amount of time I spent with her today. Thank you Kasey!! 2speakdog was recommended by my dog's vet @Three Chopt Animal Clinic. I figured I'd put him through a class and just wait to see 1) how much he enjoyed it 2) the results. My dog, Scotch is learning fast and is in love with his teacher "Kasey". The class gives him purpose. He loves practicing at home and demonstrating for the class. I am baffled that this company even has one bad review! Everyone I dealt with was SO accommodating. I did the initial in home session to work with my stubborn pup. I can not say enough great things about 2 Speak Dog - especially Jennifer, Amy and Tyler. I've had my puppy in two classes there so far and I am constantly complimented on her behavior. She is a sporting dog puppy so, sure, she is super energetic but the fundamentals of obedience are there. Most people can't believe how young my dog is considering how obedient she can be. "Smartest dog I've ever seen" has been said once or twice ;) I give all the credit to Jennifer and Amy. They are WONDERFUL with dogs and just all around good people. 2 Speak Dog has a great, private location with a nice building for indoor work and a large yard for potty breaks and leash training. They provide water for the dogs, as well as mats and chairs for humans. Prices are in line with many other training facilities in the area but I'd confidently say they have the best programs and instructors in Richmond. You'll see from their website that they offer a variety of classes, as well as workshops, which you can book online. They book up fast so don't delay! Hannah and I are students for life there. I had a one-time session called 'meet and greet' for dogs that need to learn to stay in place as the two handlers say 'hello' and shake hands. Kasey explained and illustrated what was to be done clearly and effectively. That is what amateurs need: clear instructions of what to do and a brief explanation how and why. So much love for 2SD! My favorite thing is their focus on energy, body language, and creating a relationship of mutual respect with our dogs. I use what I've learned with 2SD every day with my own 6 dogs, and as a handler and manager with Canine Adventure. Kasey and Jenn train all our Canine Adventure handlers, making us the best dog handlers in Richmond. They lead us in continuing education classes and are always available to answer questions about our clients or personal dogs. Additionally, they've done amazing things with our personal pack of 6. They've helped us integrate 2 packs of dogs, including setting up a household of structure and routine. They've also helped our little one with her stranger danger issues and confidence building. We love agility classes and pack walks. The field trips are so fun. And we can't get enough of the walking workshops. I recommend 2SD to anyone with dogs, for everything from basic obedience to serious behavioral issues. They're the best!!! More...

When we asked Jennifer to work with us at our home with our 3 dogs, we were at a place of complete frustration. We'd been to "training" classes and tried every leash and collar for pulling we'd seen. We still had a 75 pound pulling machine who had pulled me and the baby stroller into the street in front of an oncoming car, prompting my call to 2 Speak Dog. Jennifer gave us simple, effective tools and strategies that instantly began to improve the relationship we have with our dogs. As my 75 pound boy is resurrecting some old habits, I find myself looking at the VERY useful emails Jennifer sent that remind us of those simple but powerful strategies. As I'm reading, I'm realizing that I'm the one who's forgotten some basic elements- leading to the return of these old habits. Feeling grateful for the resources we've received, and excited to right our ship again and hopefully join in on a Walking Workshop once we're back in the groove. 2 paws WAY up!!! More...

2SpeakDog is absolutely wonderful! We adopted a dog with fear and anxiety issues. We've been working with Jennifer and JD for a few months and they have both been so understanding, helpful, and kind. First let me say, that all the trainers at 2SpeakDog are amazing, wonderful, talented, and extremely caring (of both dogs and people). My family has worked with all of them over the past 10 months to help with a 2 1/2 year old Border Collie that we adoped last year. Kit came to us from a situation where she received no socialization, had never lived in a house or been in a city (with all its noise and activity). Over the first weeks and months we realized we had a dog that, without help, was not going to be able to stay with us. She was terrified of everything outside the house, was aggressive to our other dogs, reacted badly to dogs and people outside the home, and did not accept physical affection easily, even from members of our household. Both Jennifer and Kasey have worked with us privately and we have taken classes and workshops with JD and Kasey. All of these wonderful trainers got to know the members of our family and other dogs and have been enormously helpful and supportive, especially during the most challenging times. More than once, I texted Kasey with an emergency situation. She was prompt in responding with calls and assistance whenever we called. One time we were working through an especially difficult situation between Kit and one of our other dogs, Kasey made a stop by the house in the middle of her day (no charge to us...just because she cared about helping us get through the issue) just to check on us, propose a couple of possible solutions and take Kit on a bike ride---no kidding. The "fixes" she suggested that day actually solved that particular issue. There were other times when things were very hard with Kit, Jennifer, JD, and Kasey gave so much support and encouragement when I needed it most. I never felt alone. After so much work, we now have a happy, adjusted dog who becomes more comfortable every day. We've learned so much about dogs, behavior and body language. This has allowed us to be much better dog parents to all three of our dogs and develop a level of trust with Kit that we never would have had otherwise. I have had many dogs over my lifetime. With every dog I've had, I have enrolled in at least one obedience class to get a baseline of training, until last year. After working with 2SpeakDog, I wish all my dogs would have had the unique and amazing training experiences that we have had with Kit. I strongly believe that 2SpeakDog offers the very best training classes and EVERY dog, not just dogs with behavior problems, will benefit by working with these people. Just took both the doberman for a 2 mile walk. I am so proud of how Blue is doing. This dog who wouldn't put a leash on or walk out the front door (abused rescue) leaps and cries with excitement when he sees that leash now. He is listening on the leash and sitting and coming back when asked! Maya is still wiggly and zip zaggy, but she's learning. She was trained to be off leash as a puppy, so it's my fault I didn't work more with her this way. Plus she zags to check and nudge her brother every 2 mins. Their bond is crazy. I love 2speakdog!! They are absolutely fabulous at what they do and really understand the ins and outs of dog training/behavior. They give you the tools and skills to be able to have a well-balanced dog. My two Golden Retriever's, Willow and Henry have been to their walking workshops, pack walks and obedience classes. Willow has completed all the classes with 2speakdog and received her CGC and CGCA. They both have been to walking workshops to learn how to properly walk on leash, obedience classes, pack walks and field trip classes. Kasey and Jennifer have both been out to my house to work with us on Henry's reaction on leash in the neighborhood.  They have equipped us with the knowledge on how to address the issue. I have seen tons of improvement with him and look forward to continuing training with them. If you have a pooch that needs obedience training or more specific issue that needs to be addressed I would highly recommend 2speakdog! Kasey and Jennifer really know a lot about dog behavior. Where do I start.. All I can say is thank you all for the wonderful training that you have given us with Sterling.. We have been training with this group for almost a year now we started with basic level 1 all the way through advanced. Which now our pup is CGC certified.. With out the help of Kasey, Jennifer and JD I'm not sure we would be were we are now in the training process.. When other trainers said well don't do that these gals said lets show you how to help with guarding.. Kasey the main trainer we have been dealing with not only helped us with the Obedience side she also helped us understanding the behavioral side and why our pup might do the things he does.. Kasey has really opened up our eyes to everything.. Kasey is extremely knowledgable and we are so happy that we met her and this wonderful training group. Their methods are extremely effective. Our pup has grown leaps and bounds. Kasey truly cares about all her clients and will do whatever it takes to help us and our pup.. We have had several private sessions with her. 2SpeakDog is amazing!  The trainers are fabulous and are exceptional at working to give you the confidence and tools that you need to train your dog so that it responds to you.  We have worked extensively with Kasey in several classes, lots of workshops and private lessons and we LOVE her!!  Our dog has made so much progress with her help and just passed the Canine Good Citizen test!  Kasey genuinely cares about her clients and goes above and beyond for them - after one class she took an hour of her time to work us through some issues I was concerned about with loose leash walking and meets and greets.  She has also gone out of her way to meet us on her own time outside of class at dog-friendly events or places around town.  She is so incredibly talented and passionate about what she does and has been there for us in and out of class/lessons to provide encouragement and support.  We would not be where we are with a very well-behaved dog about to start therapy work without Kasey's help.  In addition to helping and training with clients, she spends a lot of time working with dogs in various shelters helping to increase their chances of being adopted.  I am so thankful that we ended up in Kasey's class and continue to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing trainer!  The trainers at 2SpeakDog are the best and really know what they are talking about!  Their methods are extremely effective and provide real results!
