Food was delicious and would like to come back and try other menu items. Friendly service and a huge place.

I had my baby shower the month before Covid here and  went into labor with our second child the night we had dinner here as our last date night. We love this place to say the least. We've always had great service, great food and it's a big enough restaurant that we can bring the kids and not feel like we're bothering other guests (at least we hope not haha) More...

I've been here a few times before Covid, and this was the first time I've been here since Covid hit the scene. It's always been a pretty open spaced area so don't really have to worry about social distancing. I've been here with large groups & smaller groups & service has always been good!  My brother had made reservations for 4 for 01/22/22 at 6:15pm for my birthday dinner. We were immediately seated in a booth.  Our drink order was taken shortly there after (2 iced teas, diet coke & some sort of beer), followed by our appetizer order. Our drinks came out quickly and our dinner order was taken at that time and shortly after that our appetizer came out.We started with the baked brie appetizer which was in a nice puffed pastry that was the perfect golden color.  It was served with fig jam on top and 6 slices of baguette about 1/8" thick.  Honestly it could've used about 6 more slices as we still had half the baked brie left after the baguette slices were gone. What's the sense of only giving a few slices of baguette when you have half or more of the brie left?I ordered the Mary's Organic Chicken & Grilled Artichokes.  The description said it was a sautéed chicken breast, spinach, mushrooms in a light lemon cream sauce and Yukon gold mashed potatoes. It definitely wasn't "light" at all when it came to the lemon.  I'm not saying it was bad, I'm just saying someone got a little too heavy handed when it came to adding lemon juice in this sauce as it definitely gave you some "pucker power" when you tasted it.  I really like the taste of lemons but this was just a tad bit too much for me.My niece had ordered the Baby Iceberg Wedge salad with an appetizer, buffalo cauliflower.  The description said that the cauliflower florets were tossed in Rosens house buffalo sauce so I thought I'd give it a try.  It was tasty but very spicy! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food as well (Classic Caesar Salad, cup of clam chowder, Norwegian Salmon over gnocchi in saffron sauce with spinach, grilled artichoke hearts and organic cherry tomatoes).Parking is street parking with other business, as well as a small lot for Rosens just down the street.  The only thing I would suggest to Rosens is to fix their  menu as it very blurry and hard to read.  All in all, this was a very good enjoyable meal, good atmosphere, good service and good food. Don't waste your time or money. Salmon was bland and almost inedible. Cocktails were laughable. Even their cheap menus are a joke. Hard to read and poor quality, with bleeding ink. The fact that they didn't bother to get them reprinted shows you how little ownership cares. The staff was friendly and attentive. They deserve to work somewhere better. More...

Really enjoyed eating here. The baked brie, buffalo cauliflower, and baby iceberg wedge salad were delicious. The dining space was really comfortable and well spaced out. They have some tables close to the bar if you want to watch the game, and others in a more formal dining area. The service was good too. More...

Went for lunch.  Not too many things on the menu were interesting.  Got the prime rib sliders.  Its expected for sliders, but they were tiny.  Not much meat.  Taste was good but nothing special.  Didnt fill me up.  wouldnt order again.  Fries were pretty bad, they were extra crispy. Also got the snickers cheesecake for dessert, which was just a regular cheesecake with crushed snickers on top and fudge.  Not very creative.  Would not visit again. More...

We were in there 45 min standing at the bar and no one served us. Terrible service. The owner was even there telling the server to get us next and we never got service so we left. Will not be going back.

We had a marvelous experience visiting this place and the taste and flavors were absolutely mesmerizing. I don't expect places I visit to be perfect, but this restaurant was touching perfection. I wish I could try more things from the menu, but the course as so satisfying that we even skipped the desert. We were full and happy and, since we also had some wine, we were happy and fools.Very recommended and bring a positive spirit. Enjoy! More...

Petaluma's most under rated restaurant. Easily the best burger in Petaluma, always cooked the temperature requested. The mushroom risotto is a great meat free option, as is the buffalo cauliflower. The bar is a hidden gem for game watching or just catching up with a friend. There are always plenty of seats and service is very attentive. More...

I absolutely love this place! Food is fantastic! Anything from the wood fired oven is great. The burger is great and will come out at the temperature you ordered it at (medium rare is actually medium rare) and the cheesecake is wonderful. Great TVs and I think a nice spot to catch any game. Nice beer selection and excellent craft cocktails! An underrated spot in Petaluma! More...

This restaurant is so much fun!   Erica the bartendress is so creative. Sometimes I come in and she asks, "What would you like? "  "I don't know."  "How 'bout a strawberry margarita?"  "Oh perfect!"  Isn't that great?  She's always tuned into the patrons. More...

After being here for a weekend, and coming to this place 2 days in a row, I quickly realized that the family of this location preys on people who are not locals. Do not come here, unless you expect to get scammed by the owner and all her family members. 0/10 worst service. More...

The food at 256 North is plain and simple- amazing. We have been a handful of times, but this last time, I couldn't stop 'mmmm' ing at every bite I took, that it was time for a review. We had the calamari to start (so tasty); hubs had their Petrale Sole from the specials and I had the Angel Hair w/ Scallops, Pasta and lobster. Hubs said the Sole was the best he's ever had...the toasted pine nuts on top give it a crunch and nutty flavor that far surpass the saltiness that capers usually give this dish. The pasta used to come with just scallops (which were perfect and never had any sand like many do), but the addition of the lobster and prawns made this more of a seafood dish than a pasta dish. SO Tasty! Even the focaccia bread was fresh and delicious. We also had delish cocktails (try a slush- so fun and yummy) and shared one of her cheesecakes...I hunt them down in the local nice groceries, but fresh, straight from Jan's restaurant is that much better. The only slight bummer was the length of time to get our drinks, but I know full well that staffing is very difficult at the moment and they were short a couple people the Saturday we went... So when you go here (or other restaurants), don't bring your same expectations you had pre-pandora; these restaurants hung on by a thread and it's really tough to draw back in qualified servers etc when many of that population probably decided to go to nursing school or something. LOL.Don't miss out on this delish place... our 'go-to' used to be Seared and this spot has now topped our list. More...
