240 Union has stood the test of time, while ensuring their menu is fresh, atmosphere inviting and service EXCELLENT! We have a LONGGGGGG history with 240 Union. We've been going there since they opened their doors in the late 80's. My late father loved fine dinging and good wine so 240 Union became one of our favorites through all of the important milestones in life ... family meals, meals with out of town visitors, anniversary's (pretty much every year on our anniversary for at least 15years out of 23!), birthdays & even our wedding rehearsal dinner in 1998. We've never walked away from 240 Union with anything but a positive reaction and last night was exactly that - a positive experience from the moment I called coming down the mountain from Evergreen & my daughter's soccer game to see if they had room for us, to our fabulous server (Josh!? I am terrible with names - long black hair), to the food, which of course if the most important.We've ALWAYS had the pork chop .. it's the best dish on the menu & really on ANY menu in Denver if you ask me. Last night we decided to sway a bit & while my husband couldn't resist the pork chop, my mom & I split the fish special and bison pepperadelle. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS .. every last morsel & the portions and prices are really a bonus!We were laughing because we had an fun but INSANELY expensive meal at Shannahans a few week's before & don't get me wrong, that has it's 'place' for celebrations, but prices have gone up so much, its just hard to justify $80 lamb chops & $75 steaks, when 240 Union has the same quality & about 1/2 the price. Thank you 240 Union for staying the same with a refresh of your menu regularly (which is impressive - so much to choose from!), awesome wine list and the freshest food for miles.I'm sure what really set 240 Union aside is that the owners are THERE, serving the food, interacting with customers & making sure everyone is happy & it's clear their culture must be good because every server we've had in over 30 years has been positive, kind, helpful, happy, fun, etc! The open concept of the kitchen still works too!WE WILL BE BACK for the next 30 years ... THANK YOU 240 Union for always doing your best & making us feel special at every celebration we've had. Went here for a birthday dinner and our waitress went above and beyond to make it special. She sang a cute birthday song with a little shimmy, perfectly embarrassing . We just went there last night. We at least go there a few times a year. The food is still great and their customer service is always top notch. My wife got the porkchop and I got the prime rib. My girlfriend and I love to come here for lunch and dinner when we really want good food but don't want to go into the city. Recently rediscovered this restaurant. The food is always good and the choices interesting and varied. In the current times, the one thing that stands out is the service. The staff appears to largely be the same people from one visit to the next and all have been knowledgeable, accommodating and professional at a time when many other places struggle with staffing issues. My sole complaint is the desserts. The sticky toffee pudding sounded good but missed the mark. On our most recent visit, the nightly special dessert was coconut cream pie, which for some reason had an overwhelming flavor of almond extract. As a CO native, I don't know what took me so long to visit 240 Union. It's amazing.It's not super casual and not overly fancy, but reservations are recommended. The wait staff was extremely kind and informative, and the food was phenomenal.240 Union uses local ingredients to keep their menu filled with new seasonal items. I visited in the late summer/fall for my birthday, and was overwhelmed with the variety of food they were offering. I got the jumbo shrimp and peach salad appetizers and scallops for my main meal. My family got a pasta dish and seafood soup/stew. We got creme brûlée for dessert, and everything was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and were in great portions.Definitely recommend for your next special dinner or if you just want to "treat yourself!" Amazing place to have a quality dinning experience! They change up their menu seasonally and have a talented team of chefs in an open style kitchen so you can see them cooking if you're in the main dining room. The complimentary bread and butter is delicious but make sure not to fill up on it because the entrees are the real star here. Try the pork if it's on the menu - it's topped with pistachios and the plum wine sauce is so unique and pairs perfect with the risotto. Menu isn't outrageously priced either - one of the better places to eat out in Lakewood without feeling guilty about how much you're spending. I have been coming to 240 Union with family for years. The food keeps getting worse and worse. Went for a special occasion and ordered the Half Roasted Chicken. So salty and did not enjoy my meal. My husband got the Prime Rib special. Meat was not good. They no longer provide the bread sticks we used to love. And the free dessert was an orange cake that was very dry with sauce so sugary sweet it was inedible. Sad to say but we won't be back. More...

It's a nice place that's not too casual and not too fancy. Lots of private rooms for large parties, and due to the glass walls, it doesn't feel like you are isolated from everyone else (which I like). The service is attentive but to be honest, I did expect more.The quality of food is a bit above average but nothing special at all. My scallops were ok, and a side of risotto was absolutely delicious (I am sure it had a million calories but totally worth it). My friend had a beef dish and it was just "ok" as well. Other people in our party had various dishes, and honestly, everything looked very standard and not mouthwatering at all. On Saturday 6/12 we came to the restaurant for my moms birthday only to find out I had made the reservation for Sunday and not Saturday. Paul the maitre d, was amazing he got 6 of us sat in 2 minutes. We had a lovely time and the food was excellent. I highly recommend not only for the food but the exceptional customer service.
