I’m from Italy and live in the Bay Area. I drove all the way down to Carlsbad to have a taste of what I read online being an authentic Italian restaurant. Well, this is definitely true. These amazing guys not only cook everything from scratch the same way I do (even better I would say!)but they also offer a refined and delicious selection of different kind of pasta recipes as I would expect to find in Italy (aka not pretentious and tasteless ones as unfortunately you can find all around US). The environment is very modern, super clean and stylish so don’t expect the red and white taverna style tablecloth and the mandolino music soundtrack, we don’t have that anymore in Italy. The owners and all the staff are very professional, prepared and friendly. I went there with my husband and my little kiddos and they have been amazing at interacting with them making them feeling treated as special guests as well and helping out with kid friendly recipes, just for them! We have gone several times and it is very consistent w/good things from the kitchen. Service is good, as they are very nice but there are always screwups from the kitchen. Sometimes long delays, other times they forget one of the entrees. Free corkage never hursts, but they are applying for a liquor license so that will end soon? Hope they make progress on their service as we enjoy the ease and good price to provision ratio. Cheers to hoping that they will continue to evolve. More...

A hidden gem that is off the beat and path provides an outstanding dining experience presented by 3 experienced and creative gentlemen who have prepare dishes from their native Bologna. Pasta is made fresh daily and mixed with sauces and ingredients that make each selection “pop” with flavor. Burrata with focaccia are great starters. Fantastic, authentic, homemade pasta dishes and friendly service alla Bologna! Simone and his crew make you feel like part of the family while they serve you your delicious meal. Pasta is always cooked to perfection and the specials never disappoint. Location is a little tucked away and hard to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for, but the outdoor dining patio has a casual and comfortable ambiance to enjoy your food and wine. Really a great, authentic Italian meal. Nice atmosphere, friendly owners who are also servers. I had the spicy Arrabiata which was very good. My spouse had the lasagna which I have to say was more wonderful. Dinner partner had the salmon ravioli. I am not a big salmon fan but I even enjoyed tasting that! Wow! This Restaurant is nothing short of amazing. And authentic Italian restaurant tucked away in Carlsbad. The ambience is beautiful with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating with soft music playing while you enjoy your amazing food. We started our stay with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and complementary focaccia bread with oil and balsamic. We then ordered the Misto for an appetizer which is an authentic Italian charcuterie board, a must. We then ordered three different pasta dishes to get a taste of everything. The four owners Giacomo, Simone , Omar and Simone are hands on and it shows! Their service is impeccable, but that’s not what is so great about the place. .. it’s the food!!! The food is phenomenal. Giacomo recommended the Rosetta pasta, it was a special, not on the menu. We started with a Caprese salad and they brought fresh out of the oven homemade focaccia bread. Then another owner served our Rosetta pasta... HEAVEN ON A PLATE. Seriously, every bite was the perfect bite. It was a little hard to find, their sign wasn’t up yet. But it’s worth looking for, what a wonderful experience. For homemade pasta, fresh bread and terrific service it is reasonably priced. They also practice social distancing and masks (until you are at your table). I can’t wait to go back!!! I look forward to trying other dishes as well. I know I will not be disappointed. More...
