The honey bee pizza is one of the best pizzas I've ever had! Order it with 1889's prosciutto to make it even saltier and more savory. Love eating my honey bee out on the patio in the summer! :) More...

We've eaten there twice now and both were fantastic experiences! We've tried six different pizzas and three salads from the menu and all were great! The 1889 pizza and peach soda are not to be missed! The atmosphere is also really cool. Anyone who has a clue what an authentic pizza is supposed to be like will appreciate 1889! We really love it! Stopped in for a late lunch today w/a friend. It was my first time in. The staff was friendly and helped us understand our options. Gave great recommendations and stopped by our table to see how we enjoyed our meal. Loved the dining room decor. Great vibes and the layout could easily accommodate a large group -- even had a table for 12. Good beer and wine selection too! More...

After a long wait it's finally open!!! The staff is very friendly, the pizza was delicious. Nothing like a wood fired pizza.
I found it a little pricey for the area of medium income house holds. 2 small personal pizza's, two beers, and an appetizer came to a whopping $48.00.
I've said this about the other new restaurant's that have opened in the 47th and Mission Rd area. Although on the south side of 47th is Johnson county/ Westwood. And the north side is Wyandot county/ Rosedale. The medium incomes are night and day.
Who dose the market research
When Wal Mart Market opened. Hen House in Westwood lost some customers. Not everyone can afford Mission Hills prices nor have that kind of income level as those who can afford to buy a house in Mission Hills.
I was afraid this would be the case when 1889 would open. I hope you survive the test of time. It's the price that kept me from giving a 5 star rating.

I'm difficult to please when it comes to Neapolitan pizza, this place rocks it. We had a chopped salad, margarita pizza and charcuterie board, along with peanut butter pie. Everything was fresh, delicious, and perfect. The atmosphere was awesome as well. More...

The staff was very helpful from the time we walked in the door until we left. Explained the pizza choices and kept the table clear of used dishes. the restaurant was very clean and the smell was delicious. The pizza, oh the pizza, was so good. We had the "Butcher" and a "Li'l Bambino". The ingredients were so fresh and the taste was fabulous. Wood-fired is the most flavorful cooking method. This is most definitely NOT your typical chain store pizza, not that that is bad, but you need to give this a try. My only issue was I have new dentures and the bottom crust was not as crisp as I would have liked. Next time I'll ask them to leave it in the oven a little longer to crisp the bottom crust a little more. Looking forward to our next visit. More...

Jason and Kelli are two amazing people! I went with here for a crew hang with the Cause Church following our 6pm service and we couldn't have picked a better place. The whole staff was so gracious to us and the pizza was amazing! All fresh ingredients and Jason tosses the pizza right in front of you. Fresh basil grows all around the restaurant. Two huge beautiful hand made wood burning ovens cook the pizza to perfection! Everything was so well done! It's so great to see small businesses who love their city do so well! I would recommend this place to anyone!!

Thank you so much Jason and Kelli and the 1889 Pizza Napoletana staff!

So today my mom @[100001359215417:Jenny Miller] and I decided to go and give the pizza here a try. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by Jason as soon as we walked in. He explained to us the menu and the process and gave us suggestions on what had been popular recently. We ordered a small chopped salad and two pizzas, the green eggs and ham and the 1889. The salad was well dressed and mixed with great flavor. We asked for our pizzas to be crispy and we were told this is not how they normally serve them, we just enjoy crispy crust. I have to say again that they did not disappoint. The crust was fantastic with great texture and flavor. We enjoyed both pizzas equally. When we were ready to go Jason came and talked with us and Kelli soon joined the conversation. It was very nice to hear from them about their business and be able to talk with them about how we found out about them. We have already agreed that we will have to make the over an hour drive to come back!!!! More...

I absolutely love coming to this 1889! The pizza is amazing, the decor is what I want my house to look like and the customer service is impeccable! I'm from Chicago and love deep dish pizza, but this place really has me thinking differently. They also have little events they put on and they're always a blast. I previously went to their summer cocktail class. They provided apps and all the drinks to make with a ticket of $20! It was a great price.

I could go on an on about 1889 (ask anyone who knows me). It's a great family dinner, first date, and girls night out place! Also, did I mention they have wine on tap!!!

Really awesome, laid back environment. The pizza in itself is very well priced for what you get, and the staff is on point with hospitality and kindness. Will definitely be returning!

Fantastic and very unique addition to the KC restaurant scene. I’ve been to 1889 several times and always had great experiences. The pizzas and salads are amazing, especially the Prized Pig and Green Eggs & Ham pizzas and the chopped salad, the food always comes out quickly, and the staff is welcoming and engaging. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu! More...

Lovely casual dining here in Rosedale. Can I just say...the bathroom has the most amazing acoustics (in additionto being sparkly clean)! ! I swear I sounded just like Celine Deion in there as I sang along with Elton John. Food was fresh and tasty. The Charcuterie Platter was pretty and very flavorful! I really enjoyed the laid back local feel of the place. Can't wait to go back to record my new album in the bathroom!! Ok, and have more amazing food too More...

I have nothing but positive things to say about 1889. The pizza is legit and takes me back to Italy. I have experimented with different pizzas and menu options and all have exceeded my lofty expectations. The excellent food is matched by quality service. I was compelled to write this review because each time my experience gets better. Kudos to the owners who show care for their patrons by always saying hi and checking in on the food/service. More...

Might be one of the best pizzas I’ve had. Compared to the chain pizza places that use the “wood fired” process this is leaps and bounds better. Def a different pizza than I was used to but will be coming back for sure. The Butcher was fantastic and my kid devoured her Bambino. This place needs a location up north. Very rustic cool restaurant that more people need to check out. More...

My little family came in at 9:20 on a Friday night. When I asked if they would still serve us, the gal was so very nice and said they would be glad to. She gave us recommendations and the pizza was amazing. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and all of the staff was very friendly. It was a fun way to start our getaway to KC. More...
