When your in StarkVegas for Thanksgiving to watch the Bulldogs win the Egg Bowl, this is where you go for lunch!!! Why eat turkey & dressing when there's ribs, brisket, & pulled pork on the menu!!!! I ordered the sampler and the ribs were fall off the bone amazing, the brisket was juicy & tasty, and the pulled pork was tender and packed full of flavor!! To top it off the Mac n Cheese was delicious and the staff was super friendly! If you're making your way through Starkville make sure stop in and give this place a try, you will not regret it!! Used 1883 to cater an event with about 80 attendees. Mark was great to work with and he and his team did an incredibly amazing job. He showed up early and with plenty of food. Most of all, our guests LOVED the food!! If you are planning any kind of gathering or are just looking for some great BBQ for lunch or dinner 1883 Smokehouse should be your 1st choice. Thanks Mark!! I had my birthday gathering here on today and I must say it was the absolute best ! The staff at 1883 is AMAZING ! I had a huge party of about 20+ and they made sure we were all satisfied from the time we sat down until we left ! The food was amazing and the wait time was very reasonable considering how big of a party we had ! Love it. Good bbq sandwich and excellent blue plate menu. I like how you can choose many different meats throughout the week instead of just having one or two specific meats every day of week. The country fried steak seemed hand breaded and not frozen like many places. Vegetables were pretty good. Overall good variety of menu items and good food deserves 5 stars. More...

Went to 1883 Smokehouse as part of the MSU Orientation. Food was good. I personally had the MSU Burger and it was very good. Great place to eat. I came in about 2:05 pm and got the blue plate for lunch. Â I got the hamburger steak with gravy and onions, mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. Was great when they 1st opened. Since then, ok. The Salad bar went from fresh to subpar and limited items, baked beans with meat changed to regular Pork n Beans. Restaurant cleanliness has declined. Food and quality/quantity just not the same from Sturgis and 1st yrs in Starkville!! More...

Food is good although my blackened catfish needed a little more seasoning. Two observations: 1) If you’re going to serve cucumber slices instead of it being cut into smaller pieces, then a knife should be included in the silverware we receive; 2) the guy that’s responsible for keeping the salad bar stocked really needs to find another place to stand. He is in the way when people are trying to wait in line at the salad bar or when people are waiting for a table. It also seems that he refills way too often! More...
