We ate the filet Mignon with mashed potatoes, Caesar salad and we added the 4 cheese macaroni. Everything was perfect. I'm not a big steak person but when it melts I'm my mouth I appreciate it a lot more. It was perfectly prepared and seasoned. The macaroni was surprisingly light. At a lot of restaurants this dish feels very heavy so I don't enjoy it as much. Thr 4 cheese macaroni had all the flavor a good macaroni should have and I didn't feel like I had a lead weight in my stomach after dinner- I will order this again! I really do enjoy this place. Recently moved to the area from Chicago and this is what I consider to be one of the 2 saving grace restaurants that give me a semblance of my old life. Any time I've dined in they've been quite busy and service was pretty bad but the food was always good so... Compromise. The steak salad is bomb for the price. The new place is beautiful! So glad we decided on this place for brunch. Our waitress, Chevron (sp?) was simply the best. Our appetizer, dates wrapped in bacon plus a whole lot more was a party in your mouth. I had eggs Benedict cooked to perfection! The eggs were creamy and delicious!!!! And our cocktails....espresso martini....I wanted to just gulp it down but knew that was not proper, so sipped like a lady. My friend and I had the ultimate experience at this establishment. We had been to the original location a few times in the past and while I considered it good, I wasn't necessarily overwhelmed. Perhaps they got a new Executive Chef but on our first visit to the new location, my wife and I were mightily impressed! And, the new dining room is possibly 3 times the size of the former plus many outdoor tables which were all filled on a busy Friday night.We enjoyed Excellent steaks, salads and sides. And, the sharable grilled Brussels sprouts were outstanding! One thing that annoyed me, and almost cost them a star, was the fact that baked potatoes do NOT come as a standard accompaniment.. One of our dining companions had the grilled pork chop and when he asked about a substitution for the whipped potatoes, which comes with most red meat entrees, he was told French Fries were the only option without an up-charge. I, too, didn't want whipped potatoes with my steak so I ordered the baked potato which was $5 extra! Come on owner(s), what kind of steak house doesn't make a baked potato standard? Or, perhaps they understand perfectly and figure they'll get a lot of people like me who will begrudgingly pay extra.Overall, a great meal and we'll go back. More...

This was the first time at the new location. It is a very inviting space. Our waiter Stephen was amazing. I always get the salmon, best salmon I have had at any restaurant. I must say I liked it much better when is was served either the lobster risotto. I have been dining at 1818 chophouse since they first opened at their original location. I dine at the restaurant several times a month. I am a vegetarian and wouldn't typically pick a steakhouse for my dining experience.. The chefs however, have always created wonderful dinners for me and I have never been disappointed. Well tonight I am compelled to give a shout out chef Franze. He totally blew me away with his creation tonight. It was not only a beautiful display but the taste was magnificent!. The food was a 4-5/10, but considering the price it is closer to a 2-3/10. Also had food specks on my utensils, and when I asked for it to be taken back to the kitchen I was looked at like I'm crazy. .. The server was polite enough and did his job well. I honestly feel like I could have gotten the same quality at Applebees at a third of the price. My husband and I were here last night for a seminar in one of the side banquet rooms. The meals were good; my husband had NY strip steak, I had salmon. The salmon was an odd presentation, it was layered into a creamy risotto and asparagus puree'. My dish was very rich, not something I would order again. The food, overall was very good, but I do not like the location or feel of the place at all - it's right in the middle of an apartment complex. The parking is stupid all around this building people going in and out of their apartments-- zero atmosphere for the pricing. Just don't like this place or the set up. Feels like corporate hell. We went here and were seated outside, fighting flies. Poor service and our steaks were tough. Hubs wasn't well done, it was burnt. I've been here twice in the past month. My first experience was horrible but I decided to hold off on my review until I gave it a second chance. Well, that chance came last weekend, and here I am.Trip #1 Issues: - We reserved the private room for 10 guests. The room was small and there was no music. When we inquired about playing music through the TV, we were informed there would be a $75 fee. - I ordered the Filet Mingone medium. I sent it back 3 times. The first time it was raw. The second time it was very bloody. The third time, still overly bloody for a medium steak. - My third steak was the same as my second steak. Let me break that down for you...they took the second steak I sent back and placed it on the grill after I cut into it with the knife and fork I had been using all night. They brought that steak back to me, shoved the previously cut pieces together, and slathered them with gravy. - The manager stood over me, not saying a word until after I cut into the third steak...that word.."Welllll" I sent it back and told them I was done. - I received a bill at the end of all of this. The steak had been removed, but that was a no-brainer. My entire billed should have been comped. - The night was ruined as everyone sat around feeling guilty for eating, while I waited for my next steak. No manager came to apologize.Before anyone has a comment: I tipped our server an extra $25 on top of the already added in gratuity. AND...I am not a novice when it comes to ordering steaks, particularly Filets. My last two Filet meals came from Annie Gunn's and Napoli.Trip #2 Issues: - Sat at the bar for Happy Hour and waited 10 minutes to order our first drink. - After our first drink was done we waited 15 minutes to order our second drink and the apps. We were only able to do this by asking the busboy. - Waited 30 minutes after receiving the menu to order dinner. - Never checked on once dinner arrived. My friend's food was cold and inedible. This was not noticed until we finally asked for our checks. - While getting our checks, the bartender stood an arm's length away and chatted with another co-worker about going out. We waited another 10 minutes to get our checks and pay.I'm sure this place has something to offer. But, if you're looking for an amazing steak and great service I would recommend one of the following: - Al's - Annie Gunn's - Cinder House - Kries' - The Capital Grille More...

Happy hour is 3:30-5:30 and looked appealing on the website. FYI, parking can be scarce. I arrived at 3:25 and caught a young man's attention behind the bar. "Can you sit anywhere?" "Sure, sit anywhere." I grabbed a table, one of the few without a reserved sign, and texted my three friends. Two minutes later a young woman, I assume the hostess, told me the table was reserved. I said, "There is no reserved sign." She replied, "We don't have enough signs." I pointed to a nearby dirty table. "Is that reserved?"
