Me and my husband dined here and love their food. Our waiter was Darien. He's the most friendliest, attentive and fun person we've met in a long time.

We had a beautiful experience at 1212 Would recommend the spicy sangría to start, it was a delicious and festive beverage (not spicy hot). This place is awesome and the service is even more amazing! I attended an event in the private dining area for a "work" event and  the bartender was the best. She was super engaging and made every dumb drink that my coworkers ordered perfectly. I remember her name was Damiana because she was named after the flower. Excellent service, great food, and clean-ambiance.The service here is friendly and outstanding. The waiters are attentive and everyone greets you with a smile. The host took some time to explain to me the process of putting up Christmas decorations (as I had to wait a long time for my less-than-punctual friends to arrive). Additionally, my waitress chatted with me about her earrings from India and kept the coffee refills coming. These two kept me entertained for a good half-hour. During this time, I realized that the burrata salad--which Yelpers rave about--is no longer on the menu. However, when I requested it, they put in a special order and I was able to try it. It's healthy, beautifully presented, and very tasty. The coffee was also deliciously strong, and my friends enjoyed their fried chicken sandwich and ceasar salad. The portions were all enormous!A while ago, my church also hosted an event on the second floor. It was a nice venue, separated from the main dining room. So if you are looking to host, this place is a very nicely decorated spot to do so. They also have a nice bar area and a variety of wines. The price point is pretty good as well--about $15 for the salad and $4 for coffee. Really not bad for the quality. So, saunter in from your shopping spree and have a nice lunch. And if your friends are running late, you're at least guaranteed a friendly conversation... in addition to a nice meal! More...

My husband and I came in for lunch today, and everything was fabulous! We shared the charcuterie board, I got the spaghetti chicken pesto and he got the 1212 Burger. This was my second time here. My girlfriend was visiting from Dallas, Texas and wanted something nice with ambiance. Her birthday was 12/12 and as as a special, they offered her a ONCE A YEAR ONLY free entree' with dessert. Her choice was the lamb chops. We all dined sufficiently. My choice was the blackened salmon (I substituted over pan seared) with cauliflower and Brussels sprouts medley that melted in your mouth. AND THAT PARMEASAN BREADDDD. I could see myself traveling to eat that by itself. The service from the southern charm of Christen, was par excellente'. He was extremely attentive quite handsome and represented the restaurant well. BE SURE TO ASK FOR HIM. Needless to say our night was glorious. My wife and I were celebrating our first Thanksgiving as empty nesters, as well as being new to the area (2200 miles away from home). The GM, Lucian, showed very gracious hospitality (one restaurant professional to another), and his staff executed tip top professional service. Bar and Tableside service was eloquent and on time. The presentation of 'chef driven' cuisine was artful and appetizing, as well as incredibly mouth-watering and tasty. I had the Lamb Chops and my wife had the Thanksgiving Plate. I reserved it as a birthday meal but it was not acknowledged. It was thanksgiving and they offered a pre fixed menu. The service was very slow. I had to send my soup back because it got cold while I waited for a spoon. Getting my glass of wine was a very long wait. It didn’t come until my second bowl of soup. Then it was the wrong wine. Wow! We went with a large group of 10 people. The food, cocktails, and service were outstanding. I asked if I could have a spicy margarita which was not on the menu and our server Rico said no problem. It was amazing. The salt on the edge was lava salt... Extremely unique and delicious. I had the petite fillet mignon which was extraordinarily tender. The baked garlic on the side was amazing. Everyone at our table could not stop talking about how delicious the food was. So the other night, Sunday, on a first date, just walking 3rd street looking for a place for something light, I hadn't been here since it was Monsoons, so we decided to drop in and were surprised to find out that we were in the middle of happy hour, we were quickly seated and our waiter Rico was great, fun and knowledgeable, we shared a couple stories about the restaurant and about music. The happy hour menu had plenty to choose from and the prices were excellent. Try the the poke nachos not what you expect they were amazing and the shrimp and sausage plate in garlic butter was fantastic, my date had one of the special cocktails and loved it. We had a great time we talked laughed and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. after I immediately texted my friend and told her we were coming here asap. Thank you 1212 for making that date perfect. I came here on a Friday night it was not packed at all. We were immediately seated. The place and decor is beautiful! We were greeted by the server and our orders were taken. We did have a few mess-ups by the server. She was new but the gentleman overlooking was amazing!! I wish I got his name. He gave us free desserts because she messed up on our orders. I ordered the Half Chicken (comes with Fries) it also comes was a Dijon mustard sauce. My friends ordered the Steak, and the Lasagna. The Lasagna was too saucey. It was good tho but if they didn't put in so much sauce it would be perfect. My chicken was okay. Not the greatest and it was that big at all. We ordered a lot of appetizers. The shrimp, olives, bread, Kobe meatballs, and fried Mac n cheese (I believe) oysters. All were delicious! The two desserts were delicious as well! Banana something cake and a brownie chocolate fudge cake. Those aren't the exact names. I forgot how they were listed on the menu. But I'm giving this place a 5 stars because of that gentleman! In my opinions, the new girl server didn't have the personality to be a server. She didn't come off as friendly. It seemed like she didn't want to be there. That's the vibe we got. Great place to eat dinner. Menu was wonderful. Staff was nice. Only would recommend that to make sure the wait staff are aware that you are sitting waiting to give your order. I am writing this review for 1212 with overwhelming positivity. Based on the only experience I had there Saturday night, it's hard to understand the negative reviews. I shared a birthday dinner here with five other guests. Everyone in the restaurant is very accommodating, truly impeccable customer service. We were seated very quickly, our server was over immediately to take drink/appetizer order, drinks and appetizer came very rapidly, and our meals came just as we were finishing appetizer. Our server was very attentive and made sure to check on us often throughout, providing drink refills, and anything we needed. The filet mignon was perfectly seasoned and cooked to near perfection. If you like bread, you must try the Parmesan bread, if more than two people accompany you, I suggest you double your order. Not one complaint from me regarding this restaurant, and that isn't easy to get out of me! Five stars all the way. More...

Lovely interior; wide open architecture and spacious feel. Service was exceptional and it was not crowded at 5:30 on a Saturday evening. The cheese plate appetizer was very good, and the grilled salmon was exceptional. I will definitely return when I am back in the area. Literally a one block walk to the Santa Monica Playhouse, and plenty of public parking right nearby. Proved to be a delightful evening altogether. Although I do not drink, there was a very large wine selection and the menu offers a bit of almost everything without being overwhelming. If I had to make any sort of criticism, it would only be to say the music was just a bit too loud for the volume of people there. Extremely satisfied with dinner. I came in on a whim with my girlfriend while visiting Santa Monica and left full and happy. I ordered the prix fix menu and got the tuna on crispy rice and swordfish. The crispy rice was phenomenal and so was the sword fish. I would order both again. Good times whenever I come here with friends! Been for Happy hour and another time for brunch.For the happy hour, it is 3-7 EVERYDAY! 3- close on Monday too -and their choices were fantastic and really tasty! I got the sliders ($8) which came to our table served as 2 pieces, they were so yummy and the cheese plate ($8) as well which definitely was a perfect snack to have. All the prices are pretty average for happy hour and the staff would pass by pretty frequent to visit our table and check up on us. Also, so that we could keep ordering more food and drinks! Cheers! My girlfriend and I came here on a Friday night and there was for sure quite the "after-work" crowd. Another time I dined was for brunch and bottomless mimosas. They really know how to pour and are very friendly in doing so! Whewww! We conquered this spot and had the meatless garden burger which I must say was also pretty good. During this visit, I had brought my pup and she totally got tons of attention, and the staff made sure that she had a bowl of water. Once again, they made sure to keep up with providing attentive and hospitable service. The atmosphere was pretty quiet for brunch hours to be honest and I would say it's more of a night spot with the outdoor patio and all. Last night me and my lovely beautiful wife really enjoy our returned back to the 1212 Restaurant . Thanks to my man Mr. Christian and his Hospitality, we will continue too come to the 1212 restaurant. But not only for that reason the excellent food they have at 1212  as well .. So when ever you in Santa Monica stop in at the 1212 restaurant and ask for my man Christian he will make sure you are well taking care of..And as far as me and my lovely beautiful wife well, we will continue  to eat at the 1212 restaurant when ever we are in Santa Monica California in Christian section ..
