Every business needs its books kept and the owner operator often will try to do the bookkeeping on their own or may have an spouse or significant other perform the task. If neither has sufficient expertise, this can lead to unkempt books of record and a huge cost for a CPA to clean it up. Also, an owner operator will have his or her time consumed by every other facet of their business, leaving little time for bookkeeping until the end of the year when they take a “shoebox” full of paperwork to the CPA, also very costly. What inspired you to start your own business?
While working for a CPA firm as a staff accountant, I saw the value provided for the client. I also saw clients leave because of the rates that a CPA firm charges for bookkeeping services. I found a way to keep overhead low and provide an alternative. I love being able to help clients save money on expenses because it helps to increase their net profit, which is the ultimate goal!
