As advertised! This little gem is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the time to find! We were traveling home, and had been to one of Damon's great catered events. This is definitely 'old school', with booths upstairs and down. Similar to "Cheers", the staff seem to "know your name" for many diners. The food was delicious, and priced very fairly. We had Prime Rib and Ground Sirloin. I had a great Clam Chowder with my meal...delicious. The pizza is great looking bar pizza. We definitely will return when nearby. More...

Once again another great meal at the Hideaway. My husband and I went tonight (a Thursday). There was a nice corner booth available. Ordered a few draft beers. I got a Cobb Salad. He got the Combo Seafood Plate. The Cobb salad was delicious. The bacon was cooked just right, a bit crispy, 3 good slices. Egg and Grilled Chicken. I took half of it home. Bob's clams and scallops were delicious. Nice small clams, sweet as ever And, the scallops were delicious, also! Matt waited on us. He was a really nice guy! Great waiter. All around, a great experience. Thanks! More...

The Hideaway is a secret hideaway, I almost don't want to Yelp on it, because it is so local and special.   You will love it or hate it, old school southern Mass.  love the Red Sox and Pats photos in the bathroom!  Super seafood menu.  If you want local, give it a go.  Best stuffed quahog ever, great stuffed haddock! The clam chowder was good. My husband had veal and it was so-so. I also had an anti pasto salad. It was huge but good. We didn't finish due to size of servings. The absolute highlight was our waitress. We didn't catch her name but she was fantastic, personable and funny. She has dark hair with a blue streak accent and a few tattoos. This is obviously a hangout for regulars. Seemed like everyone one knew each other. Enjoyable evening. More...

Kristen, our waitress, was awesome. Pleasant, friendly, attentive. Food was surprisingly very good. Got the French onion soup to start which was delicious. I got the Nantucket seafood casserole and my fiancé got the seafood duo. Both were very good. Wish we had room left for dessert but we were both stuffed. The ambience itself isn't that great - nothing special. I got the impression that the place is the watering hole of many locals since everyone who walked in was known by name by the staff. More...

We were staying over night nearby. I found this local resterant on line. It is an older building and the interior decor is older and not at all updated. But the service was excellent and the food, oh so good. I had the sea casserole. It was more than I could eat - haddock, scallops, lobster and shrimp. Yum. It can with soup or salad, a potato and a vegetable. I would go back again if I am ever in the area. More...

Food is always delicious! I normally get the Prime Rib or any and all seafood dishes. Pizza and buffalo wings are great too if you want pub food. Home made soups and delicious chowder. One of our go to for years now. If you want ambiance this isn't the spot but if you want good food at a good price and great portions this is the place to go! More...

Food here is AMAZING! The seafood is always fresh and delicious. The crown jewel is their mind blowing French Onion soup!! It's the stuff dreams are made of! This place is a hidden gem which I selfishly hate to tell others about. It is small, only 6 booths in the basement of a bar room. The food never disappoints. Scallops are my favorite. Fried...yes, fried. Tonight they were out of this world. Fresh vegtables and perfect onion rings. Just wanted to give the chef a shout out. But please people, don't go spreading this around. More...

Have been living in Middleboro for 3+ years and have never been here. The sea scallops were ordered after a weekend in Hyannis and had scallops (which I love) at Baxters and they are supposed to be great. And they were. But this place was better. Great food the 3 times I've been. 5 stars are reserved for great. This place is great. But 5 is just for the very best. More...

I am visiting family in Middleboro and stopped by for dinner while walking around the neighborhood.I walked in and was greeted by a friendly waitress. Right away I enjoyed the local vibe of Hideaway. The waitresses were conversing with all the regulars and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I ordered bacon wrapped scallops and they were tasty, just disappointed in the portion size... The scallops were served over a bed of plain white rice, bland and obviously on the plate to take up space. Our waitress was too busy conversing the customers at the bar and didn't even check on our table until we were finished eating & ready for the check. It would've been nice to get a refill. More...

On the fourth of July my wife, mother, and I  were out looking for a decent place that was still open, not easy at 8:00 at night on the fourth of July. . My wife found this on her phone, called, and they were so inviting we had to check it out. Tucked away on a side street we had our doubts, but when we saw it we were immediately struck by the quaint old-fashioned charm of the place.  at first we wondered if they had a liquor license and they do - a full service bar. They had my beer, Sam Adams Boston Lager, and my wife's Cosmo was well made; I would have heard it if it wasn't. Our server, Amie (with an ie not y)  was outstanding. She joked with us when we joked with her, was  friendly and engaging, and was  spot on in every facet of our service. The food was not good but EXCELLENT!  At ten minutes before ten we were just finished and Amie invited us to watch the town fireworks from in front of the restaurant with the whole staff, other customers, and town folk. In a scene that invoked all the small hometown charm of days gone by in the USA, we were welcomed with open arms to celebrate the fourth with them. It was such a wonderful experience, we may just do it again next year. I highly recommend this place anytime, not just the fourth. An A+ More...

Haven't been here for awhile and we were very happy we stopped in tonight. The service and food was wonderful. Our waiter (a young guy) was very attentive and friendly. He made the experience fun. We ordered scallops & bacon app which was perfect. Dinners were gulf shrimp & prime rib - also delicious. Not disappointed by strawberry cheesecake either. We will not forget the Hideaway this time! My boyfriend and I were staying in Middleboro at the Days Inns and decided to go to the Hideaway for dinner. It was definitely a good pick ! Our waitress Amie was perfect, fast attentive had great banter with people who I assumed were regulars.  We went on a Tuesday which is their 50c wing night.  The wings were awesome, very crunchy and they came out super fast. We both ordered the fried belly clam dinners, which were fantastic. I also ordered the clam chowder which was great (especially with the warn bread they provided) Overall a great experience. Would definitely go again! More...

I am soooo glad we went here! We had a restaurant.com coupon but it was a holiday and couldn't use it, but we decided to go anyway. Did not start off well, service wasn't super fast but I don't like being jumped on the minute I sit down anyway, so it didn't matter to us, then I choked on a piece of metal in my wine but, well, that stuff happens, I lived. Would have been nice if they comped the wine...but moving on, we decided on our meals. Hubby had the Everett Square combo, which was enough for two small appetites. Fries, pasta, baked fish, 2 or 3 fried shrimp, a stuffie, and 3 bacon wrapped scallops, PLUS a salad or soup Oh my. He chose the soup, which I ate, and it was one of the best homemade minestrone soup I've ever had (meatless, but it was still rich and hearty). I had a side salad and chose the bacon and scallop pizza. I just ate the leftovers tonite, and it was just as good as it was out of the oven (1 min in microwave, then onto a hot frying pan to crisp it up). It is the lightest yet crispiest crust, not too thick and not too thin, and more than generous amount of bacon and half scallops (had to have been at least 10 scallops cut in half and evenly distributed on pizza), and a rich red sauce. I cannot wait to go back. It will be difficult to decide on one of their nightly specials for 9.99 (with dessert!!) or a different pizza, but I think I'm up to the challenge! A little difficult to find, truly hidden away, but worth the effort, you won't be disappointed. More...
