If Internet access in your area is unreliable, you should choose a desktop edition of QuickBooks instead.

You should also consider which users at your organization need access to QuickBooks. If multiple users are working with QuickBooks from different locations that have reliable Internet access, QuickBooks Online might be a better fit for your organization.

Pricing should also be taken into account when you choose between the different versions of QuickBooks available through TechSoup. QuickBooks Online is a subscription product. If your organization can't commit to paying the $75 or $160 admin fee every year (a substantial savings compared to the retail prices of $600 or $1,800 annually) to continue service, you might consider a desktop edition of QuickBooks that requires a one-time administrative fee.

In terms of features, QuickBooks Online includes many features that are available in desktop editions of QuickBooks. It even includes some unique features, such as invoice automation and mobile device connections. Where can I find technical support?
QuickBooks Online includes free online support from Intuit. To get support, sign in to QuickBooks Online and select Help at the top right to search for answers or select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent. Live support hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific time, Monday through Friday, and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific time on Saturdays. Be sure to let the customer service representative know that you received your subscription as a donation through TechSoup

I have QuickBooks Online already. Can I switch to the donated product available through TechSoup?
Yes, you can request QuickBooks Online Plus or QuickBooks Online Advanced through TechSoup and copy your company data from an existing subscription if you meet the following requirements.

Your existing subscription level is QuickBooks Online Advanced (if not, you'll need to upgrade your subscription temporarily).
You follow the instructions in the TechSoup fulfillment email to set up your new donated subscription under the same QuickBooks Online account as your existing subscription, rather than creating a new account.
After you have both of your subscriptions set up under the same QuickBooks Online account, follow these instructions.
