Pam and Onel are fantastic! Guava Tree catered my wedding of 80 Oct.2017 and couldn't have been easier to work with. Pam is a gem and the food they make is divine! They made some seriously great Lechon, yucca fries, cubanos, etc. and were a bigger hit than the popular slider food truck we hired. I wish I could have taken home leftovers as I didn't get a chance to try everything that day, but will follow Guava Tree for good eats in future. I'm a huge fan! Thanks Pam!! More...

We just had The Guava Tree cater our wedding and we heard nothing but compliments about our food choice. The appetizers were gone quick - mini Cuban sandwiches & croquetas were the biggest hits! Our guests also loved the vibrant colors of the truck and great service. I'll definitely consider them again for our next big party. Whoa back dat truck UP! Dropped in to SMU and wandered by the food trucks. The menu caught my eye and man was that one tasty Cuban Sandwich. Toasted and generous serving of meat.  Check out the Yuca Fries and Cuban Donuts but bring a friend because it's a lot of food. This amazing food truck came to our school, Dallas Theological Seminary, for a fall fest event. It was the first time we've had food trucks at one of these events, and Guava Tree was a winner! There were two food trucks, both which were highly praised, but I have to be honest... when I went around asking which food truck to choose everyone directed me to Guava. The line for it was crazy long! I opted to try their rice and beans bowl - arroz con frijoles, and I was just crazy surprised by how just good ol rice and beans could taste so good. The hint of olives was perfect. Every bite was one of those... wow this is good I need another bite to taste this flavor again.. good!  So let's speak on Pam's hospitality. First of all, she complimented the students of our campus! She told me how nice and sweet they were. In the midst of taking orders and trying to get the food out, she payed attention to her customers and was aware of their feelings. That is great customer service! (also very glad our students were good to her!) They served more than they had prepared but kept going. Near the end, I'm pretty sure I saw one of the guys in the truck exclaim his happiness that they were finally done - but in a jubilant way and not in one of anger. So close to five stars, but let's call it 4.5. We were fortunate enough to have Guava Tree visit our campus today, and myself and a bunch of co-workers gave it a try. I ordered loaded yucca fries with pork, and the Cuban sandwich. The fries were really, really good. Nicely fried, big cut fingers of yucca, with black beans, crema, crumbled queso fresco, mojo sauce and even some cilantro and an olive, they were plentiful and tasty. I dipped them in ketchup, but they were good on their own as well. The Cuban sandwich was very good as well, with a couple of small caveats: The bread is awesome as others have mentioned, but it needed a little bit more filling, or needed to have what was there distributed a little more evenly. It also needed more mustard for my tastes. But the ingredients were good quality, and the overall taste was delicious. Which brings me to the real thing bringing the review down to 4 stars: the value proposition. I paid $19 for these two items, and while the fries were a decently sized portion, the sandwich is pretty modest in size. Having said that, I prefer quality over quantity, so I'd rather have it this way, but it really is a little spendy for what you get. Don't let that discourage you, though - two people could share what I had and each make a good meal out of it, which would still be less than $10 a head. Give them a try! More...

Oh this cuisine was delicious. I tried the Yucca fries and they were pretty great! Tasty  and fills you up if you are looking for a late night snack. I saw that the truck was on the Great Food Truck Race and definitely recommend giving them a try if you see them parked in Dallas!

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Richardson Food Truck Park and our food from the Guava Tree.  My husband and I shared the Cuban sandwich and the donuts.  The sandwich had a good amount of cheese and meat.  The bread was amazing and I would come back just to get more of the bread.  The good came out quick and it was a good portion for both of us.  The donuts were warm and the combination of the guava jelly and the cream cheese was rich and sweet, without being overally sweet.  Will be back to get both of these as well as try some of their other items.  The yucca fries look amazing. This was such a good lunch option!Ordered:- Cuban Sandwich ($9): slow roasted pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese, sliced pickles, guava mustard (! !!) on medianoche bread- Lechon Asado Over Rice ($9) with Beans: slow roasted pork, basamati rice, mojo, cilantro- Cuban Donuts ($5): guava jelly (!!!) and cream cheeseAll the serving sizes were huge and it's definitely worth it! Meats were really flavorful and juicy. I haven't had a legit Cuban before but I will happily have this one over and over again. Also first time trying guava and the donuts were delicious. By far the best Food Truck I had food from. They are always friendly and very helpful when asked about the taste of the food. They truly explain each flavor to you. The prices are decent but A bit high compared to a restaurant. I can understand as they do cook in a rolling truck-- Gas Money \(^.^)/Any who, I **recommend** the Yucca fries with Mojo sauce or the Loaded Yucca Fries.  I like the fact that they have this vegetarian option. (It does have queso fresco and crema) but its Yummy!  Over all- So glad this truck is out and about to satisfy our tummies :D More...
