This place is amazing!! I had an awful experience with FTD online twice and they saved me both times. I called last minute today, the day before Mother’s Day, and they were able to get an arrangement done and delivered for me the same day. This was far above my expectations. This Mother's Day, I was tempted to get a "deal" on flowers that I heard on a radio commercial from a dot com. Instead I stopped in to see my friend at Plaza Florist & Gifts. And it turns out, I got the best deal! I walked in, gave my friend a hug and said, "Mom likes green and butterflies. I trust your creativity." They created a lovely arrangement that really made Mom smile!! I felt like their only and most important customer (and that is far from the truth...the staff was working and open later to prepare for Mother's Day. I could see their diligence when I stopped back after work 15 minutes after their normal closing time). Lesson learned- support local. Plaza Florist & Gifts are great to work with. We recently worked with Sandy to get flowers for my dads funeral. unfortunate occurrence happened, our credit card was declined as we spent about $8k in 3 days. CC company thought our card was stolen. Sandy said "No Problem" get payment when all has quieted down. I greatly appreciate what Plaza Florist & Gifts did for my family. Plaza Florist & Gifts did the flowers for my wedding and they were absolutely stunning! Sandy, the owner, is extremely personable, organized, and passionate about her work. When she met with my now husband and I to go over what arrangements we wanted for our wedding, she showed us a ray of books with arrangements in them and asked detailed questions to get the full picture as to what we wanted. She also doesn't over charge just because its a wedding like some other florists. She was fair with her price and it was well worth the pay! I am sending the flowers she crafted to a preservation company because I want to keep them forever! I would recommend her to anyone for any event! More...

Love, love, love this place! My mom, from out of state... had flowers delivered to our house for my husband and my wedding anniversary and the arrangement was so beautiful. I had a coupon in the bouquet and used it for a friend's bouquet delivery for a get well arrangement! The flowers were lovely. The woman I spoke with was so helpful and so accommodating! Plaza Florist did a great job putting together the bouquet i pictured in my mind. Sometimes i felt a little pressured to choose what they thought i should do, but in the end i did get exactly what i had dreamed of! I thought the pricing was a little high, but after researching other florists, the costs were equal with what others were charging. My parents have been using Plaza Florist for all holiday flowers and I new the business supported the Urbandale school district for many events as well. The flowers are always fresh and well selected. I liked how they worked with my budget while still getting my overall theme or vision. They did forget one corsage for my niece and the throw bouquet did fall apart when it was thrown. However, I liked that they set up the flowers on my cake instead of just delivering the flowers to the location. The cake looked amazing. Just make sure that after you place the order you review what is on their "to do" sheet to make sure everything is covered and that they know what flowers/foliage to include or not include. More...
