The job was very fast paced and as long as you do what you are told, you will be fine. I drove for most of the hours and ran many errands. I learned how to negotiate and maintain a high rapport with clients. It is not easy to make everyone happy, but my boss was somehow able to compromise and succeed at this. The culture is great, everyone wants to see everyone else succeed because the employees at Michael Vincent Academy are a team. Amazing school! I had toured numerous beauty schools around Los Angeles, but the second I walked into Michael Vincent Academy, I knew that this was the right school for my career. The staff makes you feel at home, and they give you tons opportunities to work on set, because they truly WANT you to succeed. I started the affiliate program in February and Robert has helped me so much. I've only been in it for a few months but I've worked on so many great projects. I've worked with great talent and a bunch of artists like Neyo, Iggy, Lil pump, 2 chains, and whole bunch. I truly appreciate him because he motivates and encourages me to be the best I can be. I recommend doing this program to learn how to work and learn the art of working in this industry. Michael Vincent academy's affiliate program put me in positions I'd never thought I'd be in. Dreams coming to reality, I'm able to work on set with some of the biggest artist in the industry. I joined the affiliate program in August and have been really happy. I've gotten to work on sets for big artists, such as Migos, Tony Braxton, Timbaland and so many more. I've learned SO MUCH about working on set and my confidence has grown immensely. My speed and artistry has grown working with other professionals. I joined michael Vincent academy in 2015 and earned a makeup artistry certificate. What had the most impact on me was the Affiliate program! If it wasn't for Robert Valentino leading me and directing me to become the best artist I can be... I don't know what I would have done. Parking: Free parking lot for studentsSchool: you ll see Mirror Doors, kind of very discret from the outside but once you get inside, WOAW! you ll see a huge studio for photoshoot.Truely was 1 of the "rare" great decision i have made in my life.I was a model for 20yrs and NEEDED to find something i like to do, I was bored and also too old for it now lol...  Makeup was the best option for me to stay in the art and beauty environment. I met with Tal and Bam!, I enrolled.I had a great and cool teacher named Angelique, I also discovered that its hard to do makeup but also discovered that I loved it.  I have met all the teachers, they all legit great makeup artists. The key is to go to class, but also to be constant n TRAIN til you cant lol.You ll meet Mo too he is the mellow one lol but be careful he is still seeing everything and he is the 1 deciding if you pass or not loool... but dont be scared he is still one of the coolest. I started looking up Michael Vincent Academy in my 8th grade year, soon as I graduated high school I joined the MVA family. By far the best schooling decision I could make. The classes are full of information, fun, and talent, but the thing that separates MVA is the staff. They are so energetic & supportive. Mo had helped me through out my journey so much more than I could've asked for. He gave me confidence in my skills I already had, consistently encouraged me to believe in myself, and grow those skills into new talents I never saw myself having. He, and all the staff for that matter, are so open with their knowledge. Mo would stop by our make up class to give us general knowledge and great tips on how to understand and use lighting to our advantage. He makes sure to let every student know about his open door policy, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of it. He's an insanely understanding person and cares for his students. I was enrolled in the Hyper Hair / Make-up as well as the Affiliate program! This experience has changed my life. I came all the way to Toronto Canada, and it was definitely worth it. I learned a lot of things from being apart of this school. Not only do you learn the theory make up, this school allows students and developing make up artists to physically go out and have that hands on experience. I was able to work on sets and music videos for a lot of different celebrities through these programs. The staff at MVA is so loving and supportive, the whole environment is so comforting. Update: When I first started this school my beauty skills sucked and now my skills have improved a lot. I just finished this school almost a month ago and this school has truly been a great experience for me I have learned so much from here and I have become a better artist. i struggled a lot in the class but my teacher and her assistant was always there for me. They helped me out so much and gave me a lot of tips. I honestly couldn't recommended any other school but this school. I have graduated and earned my beauty Artistry from MVA! The school is great, I did lots of research until I found MVA and decided to attend this school. The staff are so amazing and genuine and friendly, the teachers are great and my teacher Angelique was so amazing!! Def take her class because she is carrying and loving and teaches you all you need to know!! The school is very reasonable with their prices and it's always open for students to go practice or be a part of all the fun things they are involved! Highly recommend if you want to start your make up or hair or both to start with MVA. Joining the affiliate program has taught me to much about what it is to grow confidence not only in your work but in your character as well. Having talent is great but I feel it's important to have a great personality in order to be able to handle working on sets from television to music videos all the way down to a fashion show. The skill building classes are tough and Robert Valentino the main head of the affiliate is one tough man, of course he would be if not the program wouldn't work because no student would be prepared enough to handle the pressure of the industry. I attended MVA for their beauty artistry program and after graduating, I quickly realized that I NEEDED to take their hair styling class as well. This is no joke. Every gig will ask you if you know how to do hair. If you do, you're 100% more bookable. I've gone to 4 makeup schools and MVA was the best decision I made. All others school promised me a career in makeup and none of them came through. MVA saw my potential and welcomed me to the family and I'm part of the affiliate program. I didn't think it was ever possible to ever make it to where I'm at. The Barber program changed my life I joined back in early Jan 2015. I was taught by Lil b the barber and Global cuts. Under the supervision of Robert Valentino. I was fresh out of barber college and I struggled early on with keeping up with the pace of the program. I was not grasping the techniques fast enough but being uncomfortable makes you grow and of course I kept growing. I've worked on many sets for music videos, commercials, house cuts, studio cuts for celebrities from the likes of Khalil or Myguymars to athletes like Dewayne Harris or Antonio Gates. The affiliate program really has made it happen for me. Of course it's been a lot of hard work a lot sacrificing but it's been all worth it. I give a lot of credit to R Valentino because he really pushed me. When people wanna push you to be great how can you be upset at that I accepted the challenge and now I am reaping the benefits. I loved this school from the second I stepped foot inside. I've been in the hair Buisness for over 20 years, been around a lot of snooty attitudes. MVA is not snooty. We all help each other. I took make up, it went too fast for me, but I'm always welcome to take refreshers. I knew signing up that it was going to cost me $$$, but I was willing to make that investment. No other school takes you on set. Yes we work hard, but trust me I'm stronger from it. I can lead a team on set all by myself. I have a day job, but my retirement is my goal. Work smarter not harder. I was a former student at the Michael Vincent Academy now I'm the hyper course educator & teacher of the affiliate program my experience at Mva was amazing I've learned so much, not only about makeup but about myself things I've never thought I was capable of, MVA made me grow as a person I learned a lot about business, and how to work on set. I've had many opportunities by being in the affiliate program working on set, I've met amazing people who are now my friends & was able to network my way up.
