I was 40 pounds overweight, had recently broken my leg and didn’t know how to get started. In my first session I told Jay that “just keep me coming” was his only goal. Now I know how to maintain an active lifestyle for the first time in my life – I love to work out. I’m doing activities I couldn’t do ten years ago!

The best of all for me is that he’s a great motivator and he does it all with great feeling for each of his clients. Not all of us want to do a boot camp and he doesn’t need to employ fad-inspired “drill sergeant” techniques to get you and keep you motivated and working hard. It is hard at times, but I always feel tremendously better after training. It’s a new emotional attachment that is anchored in me because John taught me how.
He is also incredibly knowledgeable. I’ve asked him just about every question you could imagine about food and exercise. He’s patient and very helpful.
Just try the free assessment and see if it’s a good fit for you!

You have taught me a lot over this year and a half and I feel like I’m close to be independent.
I am extremely happy with the results I have obtained thanks to your training. We have surpassed my goals by quite a lot and I am very happy.
I went to see my doctor for a physical the other day and she was looking at my previous annual checkups and she was impressed.  The best part about all this is I feel really healthy and I enjoy the workouts very much.

Q&As

By meeting my clients where they're at. Each person is different and needs a different starting place. Some people need to just make small changes. Some just need changes they can stick to...in fact, everyone needs this. Often times, trainers are too militant about there only being ONE way to achieve fitness goals. The reality is there are many paths to one's goals. With that said, they all require some consistency and time. So I help clients find what they can be consistent with to improve their body and health.

"Secret" is knowing that the "body of your dreams" is often fleeting. What is more important is what do you want from that body? More confidence? Stick to your word and workout and eat healthy consistently. Better health? Workout, track your food, and get better sleep. More stamina? Workouts that don't kill you, but leave you feeling better, the tools of eating to have more stamina, and certain supplements. The secret to getting the body of your dreams is the "secret" to any success. The Right Tools and Methods, Consistency, and Patience.

Seeing people transform the way they view themselves. If they come in unsure, uncertain about what they can do, and they end up amazing themselves. They often give me credit for it, but the truth is, I just showed them the path. They had to actually walk it. And there's nothing better than knowing that you have earned something for the time and effort you've put in to achieving a goal.

When I started my business, there are many trainers who were just not doing what I would think are "best practices." They would be too rigid with the methods, with their "diet recommendations," not understanding that this person might have other priorities beyond simply eating perfect 100% of the time. I wanted a way to balance that: To continuously Be Better, while you know, living a life you actually enjoy. That's why I started my business and what I still love about training.

What would anyone want in choosing someone to learn from:
- Someone that has walked the walk (I have lived this lifestyle for decades)
- Someone who has studied the subject (I have a degree in Exercise Science along with over 20+ certifications over the years)
- Someone who has worked with a vast number of clients, from a varied background (I've worked with thousands of people, and hundreds of men, specifically)
- Who is Passionate about what they do (I still love personal training).
This is what I would look for and as such, this is what I hope to embody for my clients.

Yes, this profile is mainly for In-Person, NYC personal training clients, but I do offer Virtual one-on-one Personal Training, along with "Online Personal Training" where I create a workout program and you do it on your own. Usually, the Online Personal Training is a way for clients to continue on their own after they've hit their goals.
The Virtual Personal Training is for those who may not want to travel and is an option for those who travel often.

I made a lot of changes, to offering more Virtual sessions, to working in a private studio that limited the amount of people in the facility at one time, to getting vaccinated and boosted. But now, there isn't much restrictions as there were.

Services

Look, I get it. You probably just want to be a bit healthier, have a bit more vitality, not look at your body and think, "Damn, what the hell happened here?" Instead, you want to be able to feel good about your body, know that you're healthy, and just feel confident in your skin.

This is what I have been doing for clients over the past 19+ years and can help you do the same. Send a message to set-up a time for a Free Assessment and see how you can change your body and your health!
