It's a really dodgy scam. As part of Go-Daddy and 123-reg, these guys will remove your bank details off your domains in your 123-reg account and then not send you renewal emails. When the renewal then fails they will remove your domains and put them up for sale at ridiculous amount so money and refuse to give them back. UPDATE - DAN.com have stated they have tried to contact me through Trustpilot. literally no contact at all. 123-reg gave me their legal contact. This is indirect blackmail. Further Update - These guys are now trying to get my review removed. As a company they decided to take my domain, decided to not give it back and try and sell it back to me and then decided to feign ignorance. They are now deciding to try and have my review removed. Dan.com continues to be really upsetting with their recurrent fraudulent listings Since my last recent TrustPilot review, almost 3 dozen new unauthorized listings of my domains appeared. It's as if rogue sellers on their platform believe that they can post anyone's domain names for sale on Dan.com, without the owner's permission and with impunity. They apparently don't mind potentially scamming unknowing buyers of hundreds or even thousands of dollars. As before, their listing prices for my domains were much higher than my legitimate,actual marketplace listings elsewhere. Dan.com customer support did remove the fraudsters' listings more quickly this time. But there was no indication that any action was taken to restrict or ban the fraudulent sellers involved, especially one that had posted almost two dozen of my names. That is all the more saddening. Stole our domain from namecheap and now put on sale for $4490 when original cost was $15! Daylight robbery this - proven group of crooks who are hell bent on giving the customers a harrowing time. I doubt these so called positive reviews are actually legit or not. Dan is really upsetting. They have a serious problem with domain sellers listing other folks' domain names for sale without their permission. Shortly after having about sixty fraudulent listings of my domains removed from Dan.com, now thirty more rogue ones showed up. As with previous recent incident, I contacted them with my Whois privacy off and using the email on record with ICANN. Now, the additional demand is that I make changes to all of my registrar records to prove that I am the actual owner first. So, instead of simply suspending the listing and asking the alleged scammer to verify their ownership, I as a non-customer an being asked to do thse additional time-consuming steps? Note that, during all this time,the fraudulent listings still remain. They are being propagated to over 100 partner sites. And potentially some unwitting buyer will be very frustrated when the sale doesn't go through. These recurrent rogue listings are happening way too many times with Dan.com. At least have the decency to provide a block to prevent any future listings unless ownership is proven upfront. More...

Dan.com deeply saddens me. I do not use them at all for buying or selling domains. Sellers on their platform keep listing my domains for sale without my authorization. Sometimes these rogue sellers are demanding 5 to 10x more than what I as the actual owner have listed on my registrar marketplace. I use my registrar marketplace, Dynadot, for my actual, verified sale listings. Unfortunately, Dynadot is unable to stop these rogue sellers on Dan. And I keep asking Dan.com to remove the unauthorized listings, but the same problem keeps returning. More...
